don't know why this has to be bumped when it is such a helpful idea

Either the game devs. didn't see this or they need more people to vote to tell

Either the game devs. didn't see this or they need more people to vote to tell. Hopefully this can be implemented soon.
or maybe it's not as big a priority for them as for you?
or maybe it's harder to do than we might think?

Or it's just not as valuable as you seem to think. The fact that you've had to bump it so often should have been a hint.
I can establish that another player is on line easily enough... if I see that player in more than one space. Knowing that the person is on line doesn't tell you what part of the realm has been cleared—you still have to move about until you find filled spaces anyway. For that matter, you might never see the player who's clearing the spaces, if you happen to be running different patterns. But you still won't be getting the kills. Do you really keep moving through empty spaces until you find someone who's on line, just to prove to yourself that there is someone clearing those spaces and that your lack of kills is not just an astronomical statistical fluke of the respawning mechanism?
Far from being "valuable," this is next to pointless. If you want to know if someone's on line, pay attention to new names in your space, or names leaving it, or the same name showing up in more than one space. All this suggestion amounts to is an extra piece of coding to slow down processing time. You're right, I hope a developer sees this soon... so he/she can give a definitive "no" to this and close the topic off.
