Pretty sure someone's already done this, but I'm bored so I thought this might help newbies.

How do buffs work, and why do I need them you may ask. Well buffs boost, your XP gaining, your defence skills, your offensive skills, and gold gained, and more. Now, for starters buffs that are must haves for when you go hunting are, lib (librarian= +0.1% chance to double xp gain per point) and al (adept learner= xp gained +2% per point). But th (treasure hunter=gold gaining buff) and merch (merchant=doubling gold received) and sometimes dub (doubler= only use with 750+ max stam you get 2X, 3X and 4X your regular XP gain and gold, but at 2X 3X or 4X the stam cost. This basically saves time if your in a hurry), are also nice to have! You need these to level up faster and gain gold faster, so it's important to have buffs when hunting.

Starting this off I should tell everyone under level 25, Save your skill points until level 25. Then put them into al (adept learner) and th (treasure hunter). After this, save your skill points to level 75. Now, put them into merch (merchant) and lib (librarian). And start saving these up again to level 125. Now put these spare ones into a nice skill like EA (enchanted armor) or EW (enchanted weapon). Save these again to level 200. I suggest you spend your skill points then on dub(doubler), am (animal magnetism) And if you have time, side buffs to put your skills into would be fi (find item) as this buff is great during le's (legendary events) And anything higher spend on any other skills you want, though I suggest getting all your buffs to your max for time you deposit skill points in the buffs.

Buffs you should never put your skill points into would be, rage. Keep this in mind as many lower levels do this and once leveled up more will regret it as this buff does nothing. Only get it to 15, so you can get fury and bloodthirst, which bloodthirst, is another skill you should not put your points into.

How each skill point goes into your buff:
Every 50 levels you gain has allowed you to put 5 extra points into a buff.
Level 50 - 99: Max, Level 105(+5 levels for every fury structure level)
Level 100 - 149: Max, Level 110(+5 levels for every fury structure level)
Level 150 Max, Level 115(+5 levels for every fury structure level)

You may have noticed I used the terms th, al, etc. On buffs, here's a guide of what each buffs symbol representing it is so you don't get confused:
Rage= Rage
Stun= Stun
Fury= Fury
Bloodthirst= BT
Enchant Weapon= EW
Beserk= Beserk
Holy Flame= HF
Dark Curse= DC
Shockwave= SW
Ignite= Ignite
Great Vigor= GV
Fortify= Fortify
Evade= Evade
Absorb= Absorb
Rock Skin= RS
Enchanted Armor= EA
Aura of Protection= AOP
Deflect= Deflect
Force Shield= FS
Unbreakable= UB or Unbreakable
Find Item= FI
Treasure Hunter= TH
Deep Pockets= DP
Adept Learner= AL
Defiance= Defiance
Librarian= LIB
Merchant= MERCH
Last Ditch= LD
Animal Magnetism= AM
Empower= Empower
Doubler= DUB

Hope you enjoyed my guide! I'm pretty sure someone already did this, but I did it anyways, enjoy and soon I'll be coming out with another guide, '~Guide#2 Battle Advice A Guide For Newbies~' ~Enjoy and message my fs account with questions, or post them here!

I see some mistakes. Above I have an edited form.

PirateMike has a very good stickied guide named "a primer on skills" in the skill section. It is more complete IMO.

You advise people to save skill points till 25 (which is correct) then to put them all in AL and TH ...there are only125 points - no way to max both. AL should be the priority. Also you recommend Lib and Merchant at 75 (hardly enough points to max all 4). While I agree that Lib, with an overall effect of 10% to exp is good, Merchant is limited..5% bonus to gold drops is not impressive. You forgot Dark Curse - the best offensive buff in the game. Beserker, fury, Find Item, Bloodthirst, Last Ditch, Empower would have deserved discussion too.

Doubler is not just a "time saver skill" - in an indirect manner it acts as a very good boost to exp and gold gain

There are four "must have" skills: AL, Lib, DC and Doubler -
