There are currently some upgrades that are near-useless, and what's more: some people actually made the mistake of purchasing the wrong upgrade. Partly because they deserve something better for their fsp's, but mostly to get these useless upgrades back in action, or at least, be another potential purchase for high fsp-players, I had the idea of changing them...

Currently, I can only think of a solution for the exp-gain bonus.

Currently: "+1 xp gain/hour"
Could be: "+1(multiplied by current level) xp gain/hour"

It seems to me that it wouldn't create an inbalancedly extreme difference-yet while remaining literally the same for lvl 1 chars, it could still mean something good for higher-lvl players. For at lvl 159, a full upgrade of 25 times would result in 7,86% extra exp a day. I think that is pretty balanced if we take the +1 stamina/hour gain into consideration as well, which, at maximum upgrade can allow almost 30% extra amount of exp a day. Thus, it wouldn't be as valuable as the +stams, but would cost a little less(5 fsp per upgrade), and yet it wouldn't just mean the same as if you'd get more stamina daily. It would become a proper boost for those levelup-crazed players though, and could possibly become a must for those bearing massive supplies of fsp in my opinion.

What are your opinions?

I remember a few months back we had a discussion about exp/gold upgrade. I know hoof saw it and even told me to come up with a better idea but from everything we suggested, nothing came through, so I guess we all gave up.

Problem with that upgrade is for it to be useful it'd have to give you at least 5% of your total level per day, so about 1 free level per 20 days. That just puts more pressure on HCS to roll out content.

On the other hand is the gold upgrade. It would cost 500FSP to get it maxed. If players invest that much, they expect to start making money eventually, and that inserts a new cash cow problem and we know there's already too much gold. This would just make FSP prices rice even higher since people would start buying FSP with the gold they made from their initial 500FSP investment.

I think they should both be scrapped and whoever bought should get a refund.

I agree on the minimal percentage requirement there (5%). I'd also like to add it shouldn't go over a certain percentage rate, not because of the pressure on developers, but because of the inbalance it could create. I am unsure of what this rate would be at very high levels of 225-250+, but on the levels I've been checking this(I've been thinking of the idea for some time already), the ratio seems okay.:)

The thing about pressure on the developers: Luckily if this idea were implemented, it has the great benefit of not being "stackable", as for instance, "+25 current stam" is. We saw a lot of that the last two days in the event as the top 10-20 players most definitely, yet perhaps many hundreds of fellow fallenswordeers chizzled this upgrade completely smooth lol.:) Unless extreme measures are taken(Just a stomache-hunch: be able to re-start the game with benefits), the competition will remain strong at top levels anyways. In the meantime, this benefit would remain constant, with a stable contribution between 5 and 10% of exp/day (again I am unsure of higher-up), which wouldn't tremendously influence the battlefield for levels at the tops. The +1(*level) exp/hour benefit would have a much stronger effect in the intermediate or lower levels, and for the AWOL's - I think.:) >>EDIT<< What I meant here was that this alone would definitely not put as much pressure on Devs as the +25 stam, for instance:)>>EDIT END<<

As for the gold/hour upgrade...well, I had a very good reason of avoiding its discussion. The same reason you described.;)

This looks like another option for HCS to make more money.


Its times like these I wish I could reach through the screen and slap people. Is that really your argument? You don't think HCS should be able to make money?

I second this, mostly because I accidentally purchased +1 exp on accident, Thought I was in the +1 max stanima gain box. This accident was a BIG WASTE OF FSP. So


Please, thats 2 votes to just scrap these upgrades and give FSP refunds for the people that bought them.
