It would be very unfair to reduce the cap at this point I think.

Some players will have made bazillions selling fsps and so will be able to buy up twice the amount they originally sold (assuming there are players willing to sell to them.)

The only options you really should consider in my opinion are leaving the price capped at 100k or increasing the cap. Reduction in price shouldn't be an option at this point.

Thanks Marduken. Your concepts are very good addition to it too ;-)
And i also like Majius idea of rising repair costs. Too much gold at highest level players pockets ;-)

Lots of stating the obvious, but hopefully a useful summary and some economic insight!

Recover FSPs from forged items.
Price on the auction house doesn't currently fully reflect the price of forging. If you were able to unforge items, then the autcion house prices would rise. Supply of FSPs would not increase, the distribution would just change.

Hmm i can't totally agree with that. Main problem NOW is to balance market, i really don't think people will start donate game tomorrow and earned gold will not disappair too, so unforging items WILL rise amount of fsps in the game, so it will change balance of marketplace. Prices at auctions will not have so big meaning as u think... Of coz in long period it should be done other additional balancing steps...

I really think everyone should be required to take en economics class before they are allowed to play this game.

I am a level 75 player and I can typically get one FSP per day. I understand the fact that as the community grows and continues to level up, there will be more people at higher levels earning more gold, meaning more people in the market willing to purchase FSP's.

I was fortunate enough to go to the marketplace when someone was selling FSP's for 50,000 a piece when they were currently at 90,000. When I bought one it was at 75 FSP's, as soon as the page reloaded it was at 35 fsp's, i hit refresh and there were 5 left.

Does this mean someone is buying all of them and selling them at higher prices? Not necassarily. It means that there are a lot of people that can afford them at that price. As more gold circulates in the community with nothing else to spend it on, the FSP's are naturally going to increase. It's nothing more than simple economics.

Let's take a look at the day that we got double XP and gold. What happened to the FSP prices? They went WAAAAAY up. Was it because people were buying them and selling them back at higher prices? No. It's because everyone was earning more gold and more people were buying FSP's. Once the event ended the prices went back down.

Think about it people. It's common sense. If there's more gold and less FSP's, what do you think is going to happen? FSP's are real money where the gold is virtual money. If you want to complain about the prices, either buy them yourself or level up. In an open market you don't get things for free, so quit complaining.

I vote the cap be released altogether. Even if prices someone tried to sell FSP's for a million gold, they would eventually have to lower their price because nobody would be able to purchase them quickly enough.

We are not here at open market conditions. Too less of fsps and too much gold... Prices will go up to the sky in these conditions... At least players become richer everyday so these with high levels are able to pay more per 1 fsp for sure...

I believe that there should be another upgrade in the upgrade section where a player may be able to buy some fsp..

F.E.

Right now a player can sell fsp to the game for 25kgp..but if there were a another upgrade say where a player can buy fsp for around 75kgp..this in turn would keep the prices stable..of course the gaps would need to change every month or so due to the higher lvl players making a ton of gold..of course this may not always work out for the best..it is just a thought.

My question is if the marketplace is capped....how many people are going to actually sell fsps there? I'm willing to bet the number will be very few.

INCREASE it, its better for the people who could afford them, its better for the sellers to merchant them, so i say increase to 200k,

I think people are flooding the MP now with FSP, hoping that a lower cap is introduced later.

I say leave it now. FS should worry about implementing other things (gold sinks for say, perishable items, potions, etc).

And i still say there should be NO cap, people play games to be bigger, better, stronger and RICHER than anyone else.

Yes they do..
But having no restrictions also eventually cause a game to die from a lack of new players.

Eliminate FSPs altogether.

All current FSPs converted to gold at a rate of 1 FSP = 100k gold. All purchases of FSPs from Hunted Cow would now be purchases of gold. No more need of a marketplace. No more economics. Kill monsters take their gold, sell their droppings. :P

Create a market for items by limiting the number of times any item can be repaired, or reducing it's statistics by 1% with each repair. Or a combination of both - Legendary items can be repaired 1000 times, Elite 500, (Super)Elite 700, etc.

That's stupid cuz then:

-No more guilds
-No more players willing to sign-up
-No more buffs
-It'd b just like some Boring game.

to say that people will stop selling is just ignorant. people were still selling when it was at 50K and they will again. if the price does go up, , then the amount of gould given for selling them back to the game needs to go up, as does he amount of gold for killing monsters. the only people who want it tp go up are tose afraid of hinest competition from newer players. they wat to continue to dominate, instead of making it a friendly game environment for all. we would have far fewer inactive acounts if prices for armour and such were more reasonable.

I think you're one out of about 4 lvl 100+ players that actually see tis for what it is.

A discussion on how to keep the game intresting, create more competition and improve on the flow of new players joining and retention.

The trader idea ive been reading about that was posted bac in November sound ok to me. But then I'm also open to ideas alon the lines of restricted MPs depeding on your levels, and possibly even restricted AH aswell.

50K sounds reasonable, and the official rate is only 25K anyway, dbl the official rate is quite enough. ^^

Reduce to 75K.

People will be happy, not too much (100K) or too little (50K). Best choice imo.

But from teh results it looks like a LANDSLIDE victory for 50K.... :(

I think the price should go down to like 60k at most and that should be the limit. 100k for 1fsp is a lot but since price for sets like mancrusha/banshee/spider set went down i can understand that ppl started increasing the price for fsp because of that.

I think the cap should be 50k it's hard enough for new players to get a fspt at 50k much less 100k.

I think the idea of increasing the number of huge gold sinks in the game and leaving the market place non restricted is the way to go...
