Reduce to 50k, almost all players can't buy for that price! Before the marketplace the fsp price was 20k~ and now 100k~ ¬¬'

"Before the marketplace" was in the past before people started making more. A pop used to be 25 cents but i used to make 1.90 per hour. It is not the marketplaces fault. It is because people are making more gold and they want FSPs so the price goes up. The problem is there is no minimum wage (AND SHOULDN'T BE HERE) and new players have to compete in the same market as older rich players.

It is like 1920s workers and 2007 workers showing up at the same shop to buy bread at the same time. The 1920's workers want bread for 5 cents, we pay 2 bucks. if we change the price of bread to 5 cents all the farmers go out of business and no bread for anyone at the store. The only bread available will be directly from farmers for 2 bucks!

The key is to get high level players to spend their gold on something else... and unless HCS studio starts paying me i cant say anymore because I have to go back to work now!!!!

ALSO:

1. GOLDSINKS. no matter what ~~ the key is to get rid of gold AND to get it out of richer players... You can do it in ways they will not like or in ways they will like. see my previous post. It occurs to me that Guild structures that are cool but suck a lot of gold out of people might be useful... new levels of upgrade for A LOT MORE GOLD might do the trick. other ways include increased blacksmith costs, increased forging costs etc. My ideas of hiring people to carry your stuff (just like you can hire mercenaries to join your wargroups) and therefore increase your stamina might make people happy and get rid of gold especially if the porters charged more for higher levels.... Likewise a gold cost instead of a stamina cost for buffs, or a BIG gold cost in addition to stamina cost for upcoming level 300 buffs gets rid of gold where you need to lose it...

2. The increasing imbalance between rich and poor players seems to be the problem. Part of the solution is TO LEVEL UP people. you can't just join a game and want to buy FSPs on the income you made killing rats.... Seriously...

3. HCS should not make decisions based on polls. I hope you all are reading this. I WANT A FREE CAR. GOVERNMENT MAKES CARS FREE. HOORAY. NOBODY BUILDS CARS ANYMORE.

If you want FSPs to be affordable to lower level people make gold more valuable to higher level people. DO NOT USE PRICE CONTROLS. It will destroy the internal economy of Fallen Sword. Or it will just drive people out of the market and people will trade informally... which is OK but it doesn't solve anything.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GOLD SINKS FOR HIGH LEVEL PEOPLE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HCS clearly makes $ in 2 ways. We buy FSPs or we use the free offers. both of those things get $ to HCS. HCS could flood the market with FSPs lowering the price but that would hurt them. HCS should upgrade the free offer page. It doesn't work well.

I'm going to bump you Ecofrog, cause apperently some people don't read it

LordAtog's idea is nice, but it's been posted a long time ago in a more fully fleshed-out form, in this thread:
http://forum.fallens...ical discussion

And no, high level players buying out the marketplace are not simply doing this out of greed, what would you do if you had a lot of gold on your person and nothing useful to do with it? The value of gold depreciates all the time, and the value of FSP rises. Put yourselves in the shoes of a high level player with loads of gold, and tell me if you would honestly abstain from buying a lot of FSP from the MP with all your useless gold just on the principle of not being greedy.

An idea for a gold sink could be to add a 6th or 7th levels to Hellforging.
This would give higher levels a lot more reason to possibly hold onto some of that gold.

no im not asking for gold sinks or for hunted cows to cap the price to control fsp prices im asking them to make it like in real life where if you sit on something you generally lose value... like a grocery store if they have a non mover the item invested in that item is stagnant while an item that moves is continually netting a profit..

the problem is in current market the seller has all the power and no barriers accept the cap... you can set a set of fsp for 100k and it sits there for 2 months til it happens to be lowest and someone buys.. no loss accept for time... but if you made it so after 2 days the post will be pulled and if possible a fee on any unsold fsp.. people would put thought into selling cause the buyers would then have some power if we actually did refuse to buy the seller wouldnt be just losing time but also the money to post in market and hopefully a fee if it didnt sell... this would give the buyers some power allowing a true free market to happen

Actually, that's what I was talking about. There was a part in that thread where they proposed that MP listings expire and that the cost of listing be changed to 1 FSP.

How about changing the shoutbox listing fee to gold instead? The shoutbox is normally used by high level players and would provide a gold sink. Cost to list - 100k

I do agree capping would make the market place fairer but If you cap the market too low it would have a knock on effect

1. Lets say I want to fully forge an item it would cost me 10fsp and around 800k gold. Under the current market I could sell 8 fsp to make the gold. capping at 50k increases the amount of fsp I have to spend. As more is being spent to forge items it will in turn increase the price of items in AH. Item prices will shoot through the roof. There will be no more cheap sets.

2. The cost of running a guild. Guilds sell fsp to get lots of gold in order to build and maintain structures. There are high costs associated with this. It means players will have to contribute allot more to maintain the guild

3. PVP will increase. If players are not willing to sell at 50k there will be no marketplace. So players carrying around gold will be attacked more often.

So I think a cap at 75k would seem reasonable amount

this may sound drastic but different lvls make different money so have different marketplaces

lvl1-50 sell/buy for up to 50k
lvl51-100 sell/buy up to 75k
lvl101-150 sell/buy up to 125k
lvl151-200 sell/buy up to 175k
lvl200+ sell/ buy up to 250k
oviously needs refining but this could solve it ppl who complain to much well gold is free so its sree fsp any is better than none

so i can just get buddy buddy with a lvl 1-50 offer him 10% and buy out that market at 50k per? (well 55k after the buddies cut)

i understand the point of it being so expensive at the moment... however 100000 is ridiculous... it means ppl of low level like me would have to play at least 3days as much as possible to gain 1 and when sets to buy at my level are in the 20-50 fsp range for one piece it is stupid... by the time i could afford it it would be irrelevant... it should definately be lowered after all you cant really do well without them and 50k as a marker still makes it hard to build them up. (if you are going to do something about it it was a pretty stupid question as who wouldnt want lower prices... its like sayin do you want to pay your rent this week or shall we just half it?!??!?)

which means you can do without the set... when i played i think the sets i had in low lvl were frostbite, then giggles then carnage then the 58? set then darklore so thats a total of 5 sets in the first 100 lvls that i used... and unless its a legendary set you can go earn the set by killing elites... also if you find something that you can earn that sells for fsp like a set from a basic elite start hunting em now so you will have extra fsp when you get to a set you cant hunt

Why just make it to wear you could constantly add stats, so then you could find an eqiupset you like or, two, three ,four, and still be a badass. :)

That's a neat idea.

The level requirement of the item would HAVE to increase in order for this to work though.

Level based markets would be worthless, shoutbox would take care of that problem.

we should have 3 marketplaces, 1 for under lvl 100, 60k fsp at most, 2nd for lvl 100 up, 50k at LEASTE not most, 3rd for lvl 200 and up thats 200k at leaste, 300k at most

Nice praspect. (cant spell)

Just cause we play the game longer we have to pay more for an fsp? What logic is that.

When I was your lvl I also couldn't afford an fsp and thought they were too expensive, and then i'm talking about the period that you could buy one for 5k gold. You guys already have benefits which we didn't have back then.

So with this measurement it's again another punishment for a high lvl in a way. Most of you guys are complaining you can't buy a legendary set ..., I was happy when I did get my frostbite, giggles and carnage set. You really don't need those sets in order to lvl up as fast as someone with a plague set or not.

If anybody here thinks that capping the market at 50k means there will be a sudden flux of players selling at that price they are sadly mistaken, people will just sell via shoutbox or PM.

The price is high because people are willing to buy at 100k, if no-one bought them the price would fall - it's so simple and elegant. WHY DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?????????????????

I agree that it is hard for a low level player but the answer for that is to LEVEL UP, its not hard.

A buyers market may help but if you put up 'buying at 50k', who the hell is stupid enough to sell, when they go for 100k on the sellers market?

It's fine as it is DO NOT CHANGE IT, except to remove the cap.

in fairness lvl 200 get more money per day therefore buy more fsp and can sell 4 higher its becoming a high lvl club i c ur point but i make about 100-150k per day u make way more

yes but also look it takes like 800k-1mil gold per piece of hunter to be ff... plus the 10 fsp... plus the higher lvls usually end up with the bulk of supporting guild structures....

The bottom line is that something has to be done to make fsp available reasonably for all players. If not, Fallensword have to change its name to "Siglioso and the band of One Thousand". Out of the 1.1 million "registered players" I am willing to bet that 900,000 are inactive - probably due to the frustration of trying to compete in a game controlled entirely by merchants and wealthy players. They are shooting themselves. A steady influx of active noobs are necessary for the continued growth of the game. If something is not done, this game will die off.

And all you people who want to talk about free market forces... This game in no way is about free market forces. This game encourages monopolies. When a merchant can take a valued item and buy it up at 1000k apiece and then turn around and set the price at 1 fsp. This is not a free market.

I don't even sell FSP's and I said to raise it to 500k. You can't restrict people in a price range, if people are ready to pay 200k, then that's the price.

Like codekill said though, we really need a buyers side.
