EXAMPLE:

You use 20 stamina against a Rat,

You kill it with one hit, 19 stamina left over.. so you only lose one.

That's called 1-hit-KO. :)

if you choose to use the larger stamina variables you're increasing the number of swings you can take before combat ends in unresolved should you be unable to kill a creature, and it unable to kill you in the meantime.

this means, you can lose up to that much stamina in the fight, if it takes as many swings as you use for combat. It also means you get that much longer to potentially whittle away the hp of whatever you're attacking.

20 stamina hit (if unresolved) loses 20 stamina. 40 stamina hit (if unresolved) loses 40 stamina, 60 stamina hit (unresolved) loses 60 stamina.

This being said, your ultimate goal for quite a long while is to one hit knock out creatures (kill in one swing)

Um..

No offense, but I did not understand what you meant, so I'll try to explain it more.

Creatures that are weak are easy to kill, but in the start you may encounter creatures that you are not able to kill with 1, 2 or 3 hits. You may need 15 hits, or you may need 30 hits.

If you attack with "Max 20 stamina" and you attack 20 times without killing, the battle is unresolved. This means that you will loose the 20 stamina and not kill the creature.

If you attack with "Max 40 stamina" you can attack the creature 40 times. If you complete it in 30 hits, you loose 30 stamina.

I never had to use the "Max 60 stamina", but perhaps its usefull.

This "Max 40" or "Max 60" are also used when fighting Super Elites (very strong creatures that you attack with a group of strong players) it may take more then 20 hits to kill it. And therefor you must attack with a "Max 40" or "Max 60" attack.

It has nothing to do with how hard you hit (When I started I thought that you could use more stamina to hit harder. Instead of using 1 stamina per hit you could use 3 stamina and hit 3 times as hard, however, this is NOT the case).

Did you understand this??
