Hi all,

There is an issue with the marketplace right now, in our eyes anyway.

The issue is, players with a lot of gold will buy all the FSPs listed there for cheap prices, then simply relist them at the cap price. So by raising the cap, this would simply just relist all the FSPs at the cap price.

What I'm suggesting is we instead remove the marketplace and instead replace it with something similar called a 'Request Board'. This would mean that players could post, for example.

"I want to buy 'x' FSPs @ 75,000 gold"

or

"I want to buy 'x' FSPs @ 105,000 gold"

FSP sellers can then look at this and choose the highest gold amount on offer.

Thoughts?

So we'd have to wait for the sellers to come to us, instead of listings already waiting there to buy from? No thanks. I like to buy FSP as I hunt, as a way to protect my gold from being stolen by critters. I want to be able to buy right then, not wait for someone to pick me.

This won't really help a whole lot with the problem of FSP circulation...

most likely few people will occasionally sell to the highest bidder when large amounts of gold are needed.

Not to mention the clutter from every active player willing to buy fsps at an insulting rate.

Sounds like one of the most logical ways to go about it. Try it out and see how it go's.

why not just make it so FSP bought on the market place go into a personal bank, kind of like the guild fsp bank, where you can only use the FSP to upgrade your character rather than resell at a higher price

I am glad that you want raise FSP cap, as what you described, would surely happen.

I think that one part of the problem are bank to bank transfers through secure trade.

Why dont make it possible to make bank to bank offers on market? With higher cost of making such an offer of course.
I think that peopel will do bank to bank anyway, that would just make it easier and cut the middle man in many cases. As people are waiting for good bank to bank offers and then sell FSPs for profit.

And I think that something should be done about higher level palyers getting so muhc gold through leveling up. Maybe gold that creatures drop could stop rising so fast. SO higher level players woul not geenrate to much gold.

I'm not sure if this would make a marked improvement, but anything is better than it is now. And the only way to find out is to try, right? While you're at it, why not make the transactions ST as well?

Just one old lady's opinion

I think it is a good idea, but what about just having both

marketplace for people who wants to sell, and the 'Request Board' for people who wants to buy?

that way all should be happy, and maybe we would see changes in the price of fsp's

You beat me to it! Yeah, I'd say try running both at the same time and let people try it out. Then if people want fsp *now* they can still buy from the marketplace.

One other thing that might help is tax by palyers level. Peopel can put 100k price on MP. But a tax on that FSP would be price*(100+level of buyer).
Same tax shoudl be enforced into ST. Every FSP you sell through ST shoudl be taxed too.
It leaves FSP for items open for abuse, but I think that risks of getting scamed would be high here:).

But maybe the amount of gold the creatures drop shoudl be lowered at higher levels (I mean that it woudl rise much more slowly). There is no reason why this simple apoach woudl not work. This is the source of the problem. TO much gold generated al high levels.

Upkeep prices and item prices should be lowered as well.

lmao, you gonna say that once your higher, i doubt it. We earn more because creatures are harder to kill and personally for me, there is no more 1 hitting, minus the occasional wither attack :)

Yeah, you are such a high level . LMAO:). I am high level enough and it woudl affect me too. But it is for the good of hte game.

And you are simply selfish:)!!!!

But yes of course, it is nice for us. But some people need 1 week to save for one single FSP.
And prices of buffs are risin through the roof because of this.
It makes low level palyers leave the game.
But yes, we shoudl kiss your ass just cause you a few level above others.

Generally: It may be worth giving it a try, but there are also some drawbacks that you shouldn't forget:

* the marketpkace is faster which is a benefit for those that don't have the time to play all day long
* one of the initial problems of the marketplace (corrected quite fast as I recall) was that the buyer was informed about who received the money and could attack for getting the gold back. Having an open seller listing may be worse because not only the buyer but everybody can see who's selling FSPs and might be running around with a lot of money ... (but that may also add some spice to the game, some risk in selling FSPs ... will that make selling FSPs more rare and hence getting rid of your money more difficult ... will that, too, lead to more attacks? The consequences might be too complex to foresee).

I'd say give it a try, but be prepared to eventually rollback if it doesn't work out as expected.

I somehow doubt that running both in parallel would work. Who sells FSPs for 75,000 on the new board if within a few second he/she can sell them for 99,7000 on the current board?
It might work if you restrict the number of FSPs (per day?) that can be sold on the current board, so people have to use the new one as well to sell all of them ...

Firstly, when i clicked on the link to here from your home page, it said i was banned from useing this forum, as you can see im not, Please admin, do not give me that shock again  .

As for your idea, does that mean we have to carry x amount of coin on us till someone decides to buy from us, which could take a long time, and as some people dont have a lot of time to hang around waiting for someone to take there offer, leaves charactors open to the thiefs ; Unless thats what your aiming for. Personally i dont mind the way it is at the moment but im open to try this new idea, only way to find out.
