I would prefer if you sell fsp at marketplace it would go to your bank. Most ppl who sold their fsp at marketplace and was offline got attacked.

Bank to Bank transactions hurts the marketplace and makes sellers happy. Have a lot of gold, and quickly buy FSP, and sell bank to bank to protect it. Too many people have millions in the bank that the strategy isn't hard to accomplish.

It's not going to change much. The points are already valued at 100,000. The request board will be the opposite of the MP, completely full, since noone will be offering what the people want.

whilst this may sound like a good idea to turn the marketplace into a buyers market, instead of a sellers market, i can immedeately see a number of flaws.

1. it will not change the prices.
rather than the current "i sell at 100k" it will become "i will not sell to anyone offering less than 100k".

2. there will be page after page after page of minimum bid unaccepted.
why should someone sell for the minimum price when they can just sit on their fsp and wait for a higher price to be offered?

3. there is no "instant buy" capability.
if you want fsp *right now*, say for an auctionhouse bid or some stamina for hunting an se, there is no way to 'cash in' and buy fsp immedeately.

4. the requirement for gold.....
right now, say i have 400k in my bank. i can withdraw it and buy fsp with it immedeately, without having to hold it for very long and without having to wait until someone bothers to check the market to see if they want to sell.

5. if there is no cap, prices will rise.
regardless of what level you set the cap, prices will *always* rise to the cap, such is the nature of capitalism.

6. close the marketplace and watch the shoutbox go!
the second you close the marketplace, the shoutbox will become full of "i sell at X price" fsp sellers. it will not stop the market, just move it to a new place.

7. closing a free market drives it underground.
do not close the marketplace, it will create an unregulated "underground" marketplace with no accountability, just as the buffs market is at the moment. (by "underground", i mean "run by players, not by game, just like buffs. there is no support for buff sellers in game, you effectively have to just dive in and take any "buff stealers" on the chin, if you dont get paid, you have no recourse)

considering that a few weeks ago, prices on the marketplace were as low as 90k and there were often 5 or 6 pages of offers, what happenned?

simple. from what i understand, a high level player effectively bought out every fsp on the marketplace, emptying it of all offers.

that right there is the root cause of the problem. a healthy on-going market can be bought out by a single player, leaving it in an incredibly unstable state. fsp are simply too rare to allow supply to dry up, the demand is too high. as soon as fsp become unavailable, the people who cannot contribute or complete offers begin to complain because they cannot buy fsp at all.

to put it simply, rather than changing the way the system works, since it was working very well a few weeks ago until it was so massively disrupted, the 'better' solution is to use that effort into finding ways to increase the number of fsp available in the game (e.g. the way you have tweaked the lottery to be a gold-fsp exchanger).

as far as i am aware, the current need within fallensword is to reduce gold and increase fsp expenditure. this is obvious when you see that players have the ability to simply "buy up" an entire market and still have gold left over to do it again whenever they like, and *still* do not have enough fsp for whatever they want to buy.

so, the question arises.... what to do with all that gold, how to sink it and how to increase the supply of fsp......

obviously it's up to the game devs to decide ultimately, by all means, try the two side-by-side, but do you really think someone is going to accept an offer of 50k when they know they can sell for 100k?

given the current in-game need for gold/fsp exchange and fsp input, closing or changing the marketplace is only going to make things worse, much worse.

understandably, i voted no.

I am happy to see a lower-level player who can

1. Finally understand that this won't mean a price-cut on FSP's,
2. Realises so many effects which however should be seen by many more people
3. Can FINALLY express his/her thoughts in more than a single sentence of "Yes wonderful idea!!!" "I likey itz!!!".

I agree with you.:) Edit: Only exception is the prices. They'll rise.:)

maybe the issue should not be fsp prices? but more why do we need them?

fsp can be used for upgrades and for buying hugely overpriced items in the auction house...

upgrades:-make there a cash alternative for the upgrades..

auction house:- ...nothing , as this is controlled buy the people who have the most fsp

this game like many is played by two types of people ....

the "have's"

and the "have not's"

the "haves":-the players who DO get free offers to work, and who CAN afford to donate to the game,

the "have not's":-the players who DO NOT get free offers to work, and who CAN NOT afford to donate to the game...

so the "have's" cotrol the whole game because thats just what they do,and the "have not's" have to put it with it... .....

the game developers will try all thier best to please both sets of players, but as the old saying goes "you can please some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but you can NEVER please all of the people all of the time"

this fits in well with this idea....

anyways enough from me .. back to the game

i don't like the idea. i mean if we were to ask for FSP's at a certain price, the person who is selling will only look at those who are willing to pay the most. on the marketplace we could look for the cheapest being sold and have somewhat of a chance. you say that lowering the price before would have hurt the market but yet the market got dominated by a higher price as soon as the cap was raised. lowering the cap would hurt the rich and save the poor. well not completely but it would definitely give the lower levels a shot at getting some FSP. i am currently level 117 and i am still having problems buying the FSP from the market. i have done alot of free offers and got nothing back. for example i belong to 2 single sites now that i could care less and a gaming site that isn't that great at all. i never got my FSP from these sites and kingo lotto is dumb as all (well i will be nice). i know there is nothing i could do for these offers and thats why i am not really complaining.

I think we have another better suggestion - Radneto is going to post shortly and we think it may solve this problem totally :)
