While I admit that the new FSBox may have a little more spice to it, I strongly believe that it is completely unpractical. Listed below are my reasons.
Please vote on the poll after having read the entire post. Give your opinion on the topic.

1) Super Elite Locations
Before:
The old shot box allowed people wanting to buy SE locations to post their request and check to see if anyone was advertising their finds.
After:
Now, people have to refresh their page constantly just to see a post their looking for. It wastes time significantly.

2) Buff Buying
Before:
Lower level players like myself could conveniently go to home page and find someone selling Doubler x4 and Animal Magnetism for reasonable prices around the 20-35k level.
After:
Now I find it a dutiful task just finding someone online that sells doubler. It's a huge time suck which players could use leveling.

3) Spamming
Before:
Spammers had to wait 5 minutes between posting pointless posts they found entertaining. There was some spam but the majority of the posts were legitimate.
After:
Now every fifth creature I kill have people like Deemer telling me that they're Faebie's orphan, people like sandqueen and Sybaelle informing me that tacos and cookies are for sale or, my personal favorite, people like LaBrute informing me, and I quote directly, that:

"My character is for sale. Level 223 over 2400 fsps invested in it. Have to quit game, Contact me !" --Someone report him :)

4) Overall Practicality
This final point really just begs the question of common sense. Which is more easier for players to access? Which makes more sense time wise? Some of you may contend that this allows for the player's message to be seen more often throughout the hour it is active, however the views come solely from people who do not want to see the post. If I need to sell a SE location or buy Doubler, I should not have to cycle through a endless mirage of posts on other topics.

The Solution I Advocate
I recommend that we revert back to the old style of the Shout Box, however differently. Not in a different style but in a larger mass.

I think there should be a Shout Box function under the Action Menu. On this Shout Box Page there should be 3-4 areas to post: Buff Purchasing, Super Elite or Elite Location Buying, 'Just for Fun', and possibly FSP Buying.

This would allow for a more efficient system of shouting since people could view the posts they want to view. Each person's post would get the proper amount of viewing it deserves for the price of 1 FSP.

The reason the forum itself is not effective for this matter is since it's simply not as easy to be accessed. It takes time navigating the forums, several players have never even posted and often the top five posts are from people who are off-line. With no price on the posts, it allows anyone to post about the sale of any item or service. No one wants to buy low level buffs posted in the Skill Trading Forum by nub players; having to cycle through these posts is a wasteful burden.

With this, spam could be eliminated. Rules should be implemented so that pointless posts involving tacos, cookies or your choice of snack posted in the Buff Buying Shout Box can be reported. The penalty could be whatever the developers find fit. High level rich players, I don't want you to think that this is destroying all of your fun; this is what the 'Just for Fun' Shout Box would be for.

I personally think that the changes I've outlined would be a major improvement to the game. Let me know what you think by posting here, voting in the poll, and telling your guild mates of my post in order gain mass support.

Since "Just for fun" would include nothing relavent, nobody would visit.
I like the new system. Spam will go away after the initial buzz of retardation subsides.

In response to shortelf: "If there were categories to sort stuff some posts would never be seen. Also how would things be sorted?"

Things wouldn't have to be sorted since there would simply be multiple shout boxes. Each time a person posts something, they would choose what shout box it would be posted in.

As for where you say it's pointless, that's where I disagree. With multiple shout boxes peoples' posts would be organized, viewed more, and easier for the general population to navigate.
I believe this would add a great new feature to the game, increase trade, and allow for more efficient direct communication with other players.

the "old shoutbox" as you call it has not gone anywhere. i can look at it right now and see buff sellers and buyers, SE buyers and sellers, and some equipment for sale so i'm not sure what your complaint is really about.
