I think they should just give you gold back right when you get outbid, or if that for some reason is impossible, then your idea would work too.

I don't like the second part. PvP is dying because you can ST to and from the bank. We don't need auctions killing it anymore.

I know why they don't give back the gold immediately, because this came up in another discussion long ago: People said that PvPers would go in, find items with big gold bids on them, raise them by one gold, then beat the crap out of the person they just outbid because all that gold would suddenly reappear in their hands.

By the way, EVERYONE on this thread that thinks that the following is true:

1.) I bid 10,000 gold on something.
2.) Someone outbids me by going to 12,000 gold.
3.) I have to put in an additional 13,000 gold to raise that bid.

Is very wrong in their perceptions. If I have a bid of 10,000 already and get outbid to 12,000, yes I will have to put in a bid of 13,000 but the AH only takes an additional 3,000 out of my pocket. Surely people don't believe that it will take the original 10,000 and then ANOTHER 13,000, right? Because that would be dumb.

i think the bids should acumlate your bids together rather than having to find another 600k to outbid that player its just a complete wrong way of doing auctions.
Plus this means everyone has a much better chance of getting what they want without having to have millions of gold on them in hand to bid.

Hey, good idea, but i tought it worked this way, did you confirmed this mate?
The bids stack for me in the past. Or maybe i did not even noticed.

To be honest, I didn't notice it either, I have never been outbidded before and been caused to bid again, not counting those that happened when I was offline though.

Thank U for saving me the trouble of saying exactly the same thing. The AH does not work the way the person who initiated this thread things.

In the original example, your 100K is still there. If U want to bid 600K then U only put in another 500K out of your pocket.

i think it might only be on potions but still it is a problem

No it doesn't work that way for potions either. trust me. I have had 50K minimum bid on a potion, 450K in my bank and then bid 500K no Problem. go try it.
