I did a search and didn't see that this has been discussed yet. I think it would be cool to be able to build stuff on designated squares. For instance being able to build a house and then being unattackable while I was in my house. Or being able to build a shop to sell my excess stuff when people visit would be awesome.

Any thoughts on this idea.

I don't like this very much... PvP has already been crippled.

Or being able to build a shop to sell my excess stuff when people visit would be awesome.


This is what the AH is for... if it doesn't sell on the AH where thousands of people can see it, its not gonna sell to the 1-50 people a day that pass your shop.

I'm not entirely against the idea, just the two examples you posted. Throw some sort of gold sink in there and I'll be sold

Once you were able to build shops the auction house could be closed forcing people to go shopping at the shops on the maps :)

In principal I like idea of being able to build your own shops to sell excess items..Maybe better if you could rent a shop instead though, less taxing than having hundreds of players building random shops. say 1 rentable shop in each realm or something daft like that.

But to prevent it being used as 'free' back-pack space you would have to buy slots, as you do for your bp - at the same or an increased cost..

Also you could be charged rent per hour for the upkeep of your shop.. in gold

FSP deposit to rent your shop, if you fail to meet your hourly gold rent, you lose your deposit...

actually I think the house thing could work as a gold sink, it could cost bundles of gold and some fsp to build the house and then gold to upkeep it also. You can have as many houses as you want and lets say you build a house at the mountain pass then you have to go back to the exact location that you built it to be safe.

I normally dont like things going against PvP but I think if done right this would be good.

I dont like the shop part however.

I think this idea has potential, but would need a lot of thought.

It makes me think of solar fleet, with the mines on planets.

What if you pay x amount for a house, then every time a player enters the square your house is on, you earn x amount of experience. Certain locations would cost more, and you are limited to x amount of houses. Houses can also be upgraded (costing fsp) which brings in more experience per visit.

Houses can be attacked. You have to pay gold to fortify your house. If it is attacked and not destroyed then you need to repair it which costs gold. Maybe houses could only be attacked with groups, and there would have to be a risk involved with attacking, like you could go on the bounty board or something. If you attack a house and win, you gain possession of that house until someone else wins it.

The amount of xp you gain from owning a house would have to be worth the expense as you can currently get a lot of xp for 1 fsp. (depending on your level). Maybe the amount of xp you would gain could be modified depending on your level.

It could be made impossible to build houses in certain locations. Like in narrow passes where players HAVE to go.

Anyway, just an idea. There are many possibilities.

I think this game could benefit from being less boring though.

Oh, and guilds could also build a guild hall.
