I despise this idea.

I could farm some common item (yay, pickaxe!), and just dump it into the fire pit. Get some points, dump it into the lottery. Just seems like another way for players to take advantage, if you ask me.

The reason the AH may be dying is because everybody gets a common item and thinks "oh, it's not legendary, I won't gain anything from selling it," so they destroy it. Another thing I've noticed that as almost everything in the game has its price inflated, common items have barely. Eh.

Aside from farming pickaxes as TheLastDJ mentioned, what's not stopping a player from say tossing any item with a durability of 1 left into the Fire Pit to get your FirePitPoints. For example Crystal Items are rarer than most items since they are one-shot items that can't be repaired thus their value increases as more and more become useless.

If you do implement the Fire Pit make it dependent on the current durability and not just the rarity and level of the item.

You are more likely to toss a crystal item or any item for that matter into the pit if the durability drops down to 1 vs something at full durability, correct?

In all goodness it's a good idea.

crystalline items are a very minor component tbh

There are very few, and event low durability ones arent cheap

for other items repair cost are irrelevantly low, and this is for not often used items, and trading in for FPPs will get you a very low value of trade in, so will not influence them much :D

might even stop the low dur scammers a little even if thats not true lol ;D

well just think of what would happen to those of us who do ;)

suppose you had to accumulate fire pit credits for a long time because it takes a LOT to upgrade (whatever item). So that the only people who could use them were higher levels who could use them to improve attack or damage or whatever on equipment of their choice.

They could experiment to get the build they want to reduce # of hits

And if you want to add to the drama, make the fire pit credits a main target of PvP thievery along with gold. So if someone doesn't want to be hit they could not use the pit at all and not accumulate credits. Meanwhile if the big guys really do want to use the pit credits to go to 1 or 2 hitting instead of 2 or 3 hitting, then they become targets for PvP the more credits they accumulate (especially since they can't sell or give them away )- energizing the PvP game plan at the higher levels while reducing it at lower levels for those who choose to avoid fire pit credits.

You could also make it something that is stored for credit at a guild for use on their equipment only with GvG resulting in lost credits along with the GvG loss

just thinking off the cuff here of course :) Since at least this way there would be some purpose to the items instead of just going to limbo

One of the best suggertions ive ever seen, but instead of lottery like thing with points.. you trade points for items that are only avalible in the fire pit!!!!!

I like this one. Make it so that you can burn legendary items for bonuses. help restore the market too.

I don't really care about this one way or the other. I don't think this will help the AH, it won't change the value of things you were going to drop - but might slow down the hunt, and lastly it requires a lot of programming from HCS for something that would likely be way down their list of priorities.

Fire pit: Should allow you to smelt your items. For every 100 or 150 items that you smelt would gain you 1 FSP.

I think that would not be helpsul Ezekil69- I think the firepit idea is best if you trade in items for unique and bound items- not take out a little of the need for FSP..
Its a great idea the fire pit- please comment hoof!!!!!!!!!! :P
