Here's an idea. I look at all these battles, and what do 90% of them have in common? they go until someone gets a lucky hit, and wins. So...what started as a lets fight each other, has turned into you hide in def, and I'll hide in defense, and whoever accidentally kills the other first wins.

VERY BORING. Make a Combat move that doubles your attack. No more 2% luck or 10% luck, whatever it is. All armor has a weakness with CH, I say all def needs to have one too. With something called Speed Attack. It doubles your attack, and lowers chance for getting hit back.

To be honest I don't know if this has already been discussed dozens of times, but I don't want to read through 22 pages (+ 38 pages in another thread about PvP tournaments) to find out.

It seems that items used in tournaments have no chance of decreasing their durability (they don't get damage) which means that you can use crystalline items for all eternity as long as you use them only for PvP tournaments (correct me if I'm wrong).

Now the idea about crystalline items was to have them very powerful but not for eternity (hence they aren't repairable).

Therefore these items (or better all items) should have a chance to be damaged in PvP tournaments as if they were be used in a regular PvP fight otherwise low level characters will never have a chance to win a tournament because the level 5 tournaments will always be won by the high level players that have all the Blue Spine sets in their backpacks (because they usually have more resources) ... for all eternity since they surely won't use them outside the PvP arena ...

@ maxvam : Just because you have moves doesn't mean they will work in real life. I could run up behind you and kick you in the back of the head. All the dodging in the world won't help ya if you don't see it coming.

Hey that just gave me an idea for a move. Backstab : This attack can bypass the special abilities of other moves 80% of the time, but is less likely to hit if used during a turn where the other player has a basic attack.

Anyway what was I chiding some one about ... oh well I forget anyway yeah so this and that and the other.

that's the gear he has on NOW not the gear he entered the arena with.

When you enter the arena it takes a snap shot of your gear, and tells you your stats, that's what lasts so you can put your regular gear back on after you join.

Its looking to be that the whole pvp is design for certain section of players (No Need to Mention) as when you go into tourney with a def set most of them missed (actually if they don't got enough attack, or a % of chance) but for certain section of players which i mentioned above will hit you in the first shot... Ha, Ha how absurd... ( that means 100% chance to hit a def set even with out enough attack)

1300 def beaten with 700 attack in a single shot without miss .... there is no meaning any more...

Def sets died pretty much when they doubled the length of the combats. If they aren't working for you then try another tactic.

It only Happens When 100 lvl 25 Fails and one Wins ... how can one afford to buy the spines at their lvl , as the prices are too high , who owns the spine have a 90% chance to win in the pvp arena..... at lvl 25 1 out of 100 can afford to buy a spine item... and he will win...

but at lvl 200+ or 300+ can easily buy a spine item and gain the prize of the low level tourney's that's it.....

ANY BODY WANT TO WIN GET A SPINE ITEM............

Agreed, they're way too overpowered for the arena. As it is now, you'll have to wait for everyone who has spine items to get all the moves before you'll get chance to get one.....Then once you get the moves (several months / years down the line) you'll be left with either FSP or Item tournaments and meet the same people again. And promptly lose. Overall a waste of time except for the few.

You have 17 wins, how many without spine? 1? 0?

yeah, ok, i'll take your word for that. If your not using spine then either your playing the 50-70 bracket or above 100's only. Any others below 100 are dominated by them. Usual set up for a level 85 (and frequently wins)

Dark Spine Flail, Leaf Armour, Boots of Palemaz, Deep Gloves, Helm, Shield, Amulet of Clak, Rune of Darklore, And I forget what the ring is, either yosil or darklore. Either way it seems to be the common 'win' setup. Anyone without that Flail may as well walk away, or simply mail their gold to the eventual winner and save their stamina and time.
