Is the Sanctuary a good idea?

  1. Voted Yes - Everyone needs a place where they can be safe. (412 votes [60.59%])

  2. Voted No - PvP has allways been an important part of Fallen Sword, this would damage that! (268 votes [39.41%])

It would be nice to have the Sanctuary before I leave for my 30-day vacation. :) It would be fun.

In the upgrades there is an option to protect xp. This would pretty much eliminate this upgrade. I know that this upgrade does not protect pvp, and this is how it should be.

Maybe reduce the price for the protect xp upgrade. This would provide a safe haven to protect levels and xp, but keep the role of pvp in play.

Another downside is that if a player knew that he/she was about to be bountied they could hide in the "safe house" and in effect nullify any bounties coming their way.

Just my thoughts... :)

This is possibly one fo the best gold sinks in game and should be next on the list to be implemented... very awesome idea..

but that still doesnt make u immune to PvP attacks..

Okay chalk this up to "Stupid idea probably better off if I kept my mouth closed" moment, but about the bounties on some one in a sanctuary. . . What if the gold and xp lost was doubled? I know that would mean losing a mega chunk if some one did a 100 stamina hit, but if you attack a player then try to hide in the sanctuary so the only way you can be hit is with a bounty, maybe there should be a penalty for doing that?

Yeah I know but basically everyone who attacks you is in your realm. The person who uses the attack option under Actions is rare to come across at my level.

If I was in your attack level range I'ld hit you with 10 stamina just on principal for what you said there.


@ nthnclls : Glad some one else agrees and likes the idea. I honestly expected several people to start pelting me with objects.

I think it's a great idea because then the sanctuary wouldn't be used as a hiding place by pvpers and gold stealers. People would actually think before using it.

My thoughts exactly. If you attacked some one in the last 48 hours then you shouldn't be aloud to hide, no matter what the reasons were. The spirit of the place is meant to be for people who are being hounded by a player or want to guard a level.

i really like this idea :shock: and yeah but instead of doing it that no players with boutys on their heads why not just say any player who has attaked an active player in the last 2 days cant get into the sanctuary :lol:

I hate this idea. PvP is a part of the game and for many, the only interesting part left. If folks can hide. They can talk trash with immunity from retaliation. People should be safe through their deeds and not by going to a safe house. Don't hold cash, get in guild wars, trash talk or hit other players and you are safe enough.

This is a terrible idea...PvP is already pretty much screwed up and this won't help.

The main flaw in this is that if everybody can go hide from PvP in the 1st place, there would be no need for the BB. This dog won't hunt. It takes away my favorite part of the game....

hmm perhaps an improvement on Lhacwen's idea wud b that u couldnt get another protection thingy til u have used it and it has expired its time limit.

I don't pvp, and many people doesnt. Maybe the reason why the pvp is not a part of the game so interesting for many players is the possible loss of tons of gold and xp. Maybe the solution is not the sanctuary, but to review pvp.... Maybe doing smaller the losses would get more people involved, and so the pvp would become more interesting, and no one woud need a sanctuary, which instead is the death for pvp[/quote]

Looking at it from HCS perspective, I can't see this being a good idea for them. My thought is that if I could go to a sanctuary for a bit of gold, why would I bother upgrading my BP slots (FSP!!!) to store my defense (or armor) set?

Also, hiding in a sanctuary is a brainless way out in my opinion...doesn't require the planning of building a defense/armor set around the people who may attack you...which in turn makes them try to figure out how to beat you.

If this comes in then all I'd have to do is list 500 FSP in the MP for 100k gold... go to this area... come back 1 hour later... and buy out everyone under me... do this over and over again... never having to worry about bank depos or PvP... Facts:

- You make a game.
- You make this game have a PvP system in it.
- You make upgrades (bank deposits, and protect exp) to keep players earnings safe from PvP damage.
- You go on to nerf the art of PvP by trying to implement a bounty board.
- People can now use lock exp and bounty hunt with no fear of retalitation.
- You fix the lock exp problem, but you never noticed all the other problems with the bounty board.
- As you never sorted out the problems that the bounty board has and introduced into PvP, it acts like a virus and starts to kill all active PvP from the top.
- Rather then fixing the PvP system, you choose to make the worst suggestion I have ever seen in my life.
- Now I am wondering if you were drunk when you started this suggestion.

Remarks: The game has PvP... rather then trying to ignore it, fix it. It would make the game better...
Now I will do some soliciting, and bring up my suggestion on how to do it in here :P...

Sanctuary is not bad for a triple word score in Scrabble but would SUCK as part of Fallen Sword!
