Is the Sanctuary a good idea?

Why don't we also add a rose garden for tea? Or perhaps a nice shopping mall where players can buy purses to wear to this sanctuary?

Surely it is just easier for HCS to remove the "attack player" option from the list to completely get rid of PVP!!!

How about you get a medal for hitting 'X' amount of people instead, like 500, 1000, 5000, 10,000... now that sounds like fun!

ONLY if it is non BB combat... it would be lame if that was BB combat... also non GvG combat... it has to be real PvP...

Last official post bt HCS regarding this is about 4 months old. Is this going anywhere or has it been put on the back burner?

What about a 24 hour offline buff (or potion)... Something that boosts DEF by 2 but works only against assaults?

Could be other ones to boost ARM or other aspects as well, only against assault?

something along those lines. not 100% safe, but something to increase protection when offline...?

The Sanctuary
This would be a place where you are immune for PvP, but it would cost you gold per hour to stay in it.

Reasons for the Sanctuary:
1) You've just leveled and need to log off, but don't want to loose you new level due to PvP.
2) Some player is hounding you, it's a place to hide.
3) If you are going on holiday, your character will be truly safe from de-leveling.

Comments would be appreciated.

It wouldn't be a bad idea if The Sanctuary increased your overall armor stats like potions of Sanctuary... So, the players still can be attacked by others but while they are there their armor stats is increased by 50% or whatever % is appropriate ... alternatively or additionally PS and CH won't work vs. such players, while Nullify and RA can be empowered and + automatic Unbreakable of 200 lvl ... The players won't be completely safe from de-leveling, but that will cost tons of stamina to do it... Of course, it shouldn't work while the players on the BB... :)

i like this idea but to make it a relic or building in one realm will make that realm a hunting ground for PvP players coming out i say make it a part of AH as a gold/fsp sink that way it wont make a dereference where a player is he can access it at any time with no loss of stamina but as long as it is active the player has to be out of the game completely ..no trading(except where the trade was set before entering sanctuary) ,no hunting , no bounty hunting all stopped but make it so players can exit the sanctuary at any time they want too or the gold runs out

The reason I'm in favor of this is because of something that happened to me in my first week in the game, before I knew anything about anything. I decided to "invest" in the game, like the Cows want us to, and bought a lot of FSPs. Then my second day in the game, I sold 15 of them to a "friend" for a total of 1.5 million gold. I had no idea about people coming and taking your gold from you. I logged off the computer and when I came back 3 hours later, I discovered I only had 300K left. Someone near my level had discovered me, gone and told 5 friends, who each had hit me 3 times while I was gone. Needless to say I was devastated and almost quit the game. But I decided to stick it out, and now I just fight back. But that was a rather expensive lesson.

I do not know exactly how to make this "sanctuary" work, but it sure sounds like a good idea, especially for the new players, like someone said in a previous post. Have a nice day everyone!!

I think being able to "opt out" of pvp would be ok, as long as there were restrictions, such as:

1) not being able to recieve money from pvp players (to prevent getting robbed then sending it to your non-pvp buddy);

2) it being a permament or only changeable via a substantial cost, for example as a "pvp reset" upgrade, costing 50 or 100 FSPs (maybe changeable once for free up until lvl 20, so they can experience both sides of it?)

Perhaps a better way would be to restrict pvp to only level 20 and up players, so noobs don't get discouraged by a night of hard work only to come back on their second day in FS to discover they've been robbed entirely.

I think its a bad idea. Unless restrictions are made on it where only the lower level newbies could use it or restrictions that made it specific for a vacation and a vacation only. Say after you visited it you are unable to leave it for 48 hours and you cannot go to the AH, Marketplace, etc. As well as your items in the AH are returned to you or can be held in your item mailbox for an extended time. (this way someone can't forget something in the AH and come back to find it gone forever.)

Even still i think this system would suffer much abuse if it is implemented.

Player "x" hits Player "y" hourly for no reason while player "y" is sleeping/working/doing-whatever-in-RL. Player "x" has hit player "y" 10 times but can only be bountied once. Player "x" goes to the santuray and hides there for 2 days. Player "y" posts the bounty on player "x" but can't retaliate further than that.

Imagine you walk into a gorilla cage, smack the gorillas son and fling poo at his wife. Then walk outside the cage, out of reach, and laugh. There's no justice. Sure you have the bounty board, but if you are a lower level and can't set up a delevel party to take all 5 lvls, what justice can you get? A minimum amount bounty for 10 kills? That will only scratch his Xp compared to the houry 100 stams he did to you. No justice.

bad idea destroys pvp completly how am i gonna 100 stam som1 with a crapload of gold and in return get a 5 fsp bounty on me if there in the sanctuary :twisted:

Only while your offline it should not be alowed if your online and are just hidiing for a while. when you are on you should be out of it. Such as when you get to the building you are out side then you log out and you start "hiding" and paying then when your back you are out again.

there should be an auto boot out of the sancuary every time you log in this way you automaticly get into the game again and if your in here you cant get kicked out either = but if its added to my guild keep and castle it forces low level players to ask for help

anouter way to add a forced thing is you cant ener more the current level is - if your level 1 your allowed in only once - depending on who you have buffing you - before you even allowed in there you should be at lest level 5

Sanctuary should only be given to players that have equal to or less then the starting PvP rating.

I could have used a Sanctuary back at level 30.
I needed some Items forged but it was impossible for me to hold any gold for it because of unprovoked attacks (pure mugging). On my current level it is easier to have the amount of gold needed for forging.

I could have used a ½ hour Sanctuary to sell Fsp's for gold and have these items forged.
I no way that could ruin the pvp (½ hour).



Level 1+ :arrow: spend time in sanuary untill you get to level 15

Level 15+ :arrow: go to the sancuary, only if you have a Pvp rating below 600

Level 28+ :arrow: Do not go to the sancuary, unless you have a Pvp rating below 600 and didn't Pvp within 24 hours

Level 85+ :arrow: Never go to the sancuary

Level 250+ :arrow: Do not quit Pvp untill level 800, or 125M Gold.

* Quit PVP whenever you want!
