I remember that Crafting was introduced because many thought that Hellforging was too expensive. I just looked at the Hellforging thing, and I see that it's changed (and I can't look through the News because it looks like it all died!).

So, my questions: which, do you think, gets you more bang for your buck? What are the pros vs cons of each? It doesn't look like crafting has changed that much (if at all), but I'd still like to read about both.

Thanks!

I'd also like to know more about crafting.. do I read the description correctly that you can ONLY get a perfect if you use the 5FSP option?? Seems like a horrible expense to incur on a random roll of the dice!

No, you can get Perfect off of 1 FSP, just a smaller chance...

I just want to know how the two compare, because Hellforging has changed dramatically in my absence, and I want experienced players' opinions.

The new Hell Forge system has been changed to split the total end bonus of the forge bonus amongst the no of stats in the item...

You can find the bonus for the item levels here [ http://d4rk4rch0n.aw.../hellForge.html ]

Now it is worth noting that sometimes the crafter removes negative values from item stats, thus making the hell forge bonus much stronger per stat... and sometimes the crafter adds in new stats making the hell forge bonus weaker per stat... I'd work out the bonus per stat you get with the hell forge... the num in the box / the total stats, and round that up... then go to the AH and find the perfect version of the item... sometimes crafting is better... but in almost all cases both are better...

Yet, there is the point that you may wanna ask yourself... do I need to craft/forge the item... if you are 2 hitting and can kill champs in 2 hits... and crafting or forging won't change that then there is no need to do either...

To answer your question... neither is always better... it is situational on each item...

Ok, thanks. This is helpful. :)
