I've been reading some of the suggestions threads and a few things I've been mulling over are about ready to get a public airing.

Quest

Sands of Time

A frail white robed man sits beneath a dead tree his head in his hands obviously sunk in despair.

*Approach the man*

As you approach, he shakes his head muttering to himself
"Lost, all is lost, if only I could find them..." As you approach his hand reaches out and grasps your arm.
"You must aid me. I was entrusted with the key to time, but now it is shattered. Without the key all will degenerate to chaos. The key is lost the fragments scattered throughout the realms, it must be reconstructed else all will be chaos. If you can aid me I will reward you well, you must hurry though."

*Accept Quest*

Possibly this quest could have a time limitation on it as suggested here http://forum.gothado...pic.php?t=45817 the timer would start once the quest is accepted, you would then have a set time (1 week perhaps??) in which to finish the quest. This isn't essential but would add to the fun.

The Key to Time must be reconstructed, there are 4 segments of the key and each segments must be mixed.
Key Segment 1
Mix 100 Sands of Time A (dropped by Ice Warriors)
Key Segment 2
Mix 50 Sands of Time B (dropped by Sand Dragon)
Key Segment 3
Mix 20 Sands of Time C (dropped by Ogros)
Key Segment 4
Hour Glass (rare drop by Crystal Monstrosity)

The creatures are only suggestions if better alternatives can be suggested please feel free, possibly even a new set of time related creatures if someone has the time and inclination. Difficulty and mixer numbers could be fine tuned to make it easier or harder or to fit with the time limit.

The four segments can then be forged into the Key of Time

Return to the Quest Location
"Quickly, time is running out. Do you have the Key?"

*Give Key*

The man seems to grow in stature, becoming younger as you watch. "My powers return, time flows once more along the ordained path. You have done well. I will reward you as I promised, I will gift you with the power to affect the flow of time.

Quest Complete
You gain the skill TimeStop ( http://forum.gothado...pic.php?t=45820 ) and 500,000 xp

Comments and suggestions welcomed

very nice GL. You apparently have entirely too much time on your hands. lol. I said before, I love the idea, the quest is good too... not sure about the time restriction, but I'm game.

I think this is a pretty cool idea. I also love the time limit. I guess if you couldn't complete it in the time alloted you could start over?

Given the potentious talk in the quest text maybe you should have your character deleted if you fail to complete in the allotted time

Seriously, I think if the quest has a time limit which you fail to meet you shouldn't be allowed to attempt it again - quest whores beware
Although I guess if the limit was set as something tight and you had to start over from scratch I wouldn't object to that...

My one thought would be that everyone just goes after all the requirements for a quest, before even starting it, so maybe put in a quest realm for this one, so the time restriction would actually apply. I could just go out and kill everything till I have all the drops, then, o, it took me 10 seconds to complete the quest. No, if you put in some new creatures (no ideas here unfortunately), inside a new quest realm, and have them drop the different parts for the quest, it suddenly makes the time limit actually exist, unless HCS would want to make it so they only drop while doing the quest. And, if you fail to complete it in the alotted time, take away the parts from before

*edit* just had an idea, have the realm be the time stream, just for the hell of it, lol *done editing, till more inspiration strikes*

Gollumlad, I was just reading this and Timestop, and it looks like you've put a lot of thought into this, I love it!

What if, to help with the timeframe, the creatures only dropped after you'd accepted the quest? Bound drops, perhaps, that way people can't be lame, as KD suggested? I dunno if that would be a coding problem or not though.

I haven't finished my coffee yet, so bear with me if my 2gp made no sense.

But yeah, I love these ideas!

No - simply amake it that when you accept the quest there is a flag set showing teh quest is active- and you would ONLY get the drops while that flag was set. simillarly therefore - thered be no collecting and selling drops after the quest was completed as completion would clear the quest
jus like harran B wont react unless youve done harran A
