I like these additions and feel that they should be commented on by others. I, personally am not quite sure that they fit in to the Tavern idea; the uses proposed make it seem more a modification of guild chat than an elaboration of the Tavern. The Guild Chat area could have "TABS" at the top. so you can choose which "Room" you want to goto.
It should be possible to Add Rooms (for a certain cost) so for example guild leader ship could have their own room.
Or Groups of people inside the guild could have their own room ( eg the Elite Hunters, The Relic Defenders, etc etc.)
The advantage would be that you do not have to outside of the game for these communications.
There should be permissions who can join such a room. There should NOT be an automated Request system. Only through Invite of external players or via guild permissions only. there should be a list area at the top or bottom of the Particular Room, to identify which External Players are present. (like a Who, command)
Each additional Room should cost significantly more that the previous room. (eg like back pack folders)
It should be possible to extend the retention time of messages in the chat. All messages, or a selected number of messages. (eg to perserve an important discussion) This would be possible through permissions.
I'll be metioning both ideas in Guild Chat.

Any word on how this idea is coming along? Or is this another great idea that we will probably never see in the game due to HCS being too busy?

The state decided that we couldn't smoke there anymore; revenue dropped off by 40% and we had to close.
As long as smoking is allowed in the tavern, I think this idea will work.

I vote a great big YES because it is an excellent suggestion.
I can't use a messaging service or online "phone" and due to that have to have 5 way conversations via pm to communicate with the other elders and guild founders, which is time consuming and frustrating! Having a room where we could discuss guild policies and business privately would be very helpful.
Having a room where we could chat in real time to potential new guild members would certainly assist in weeding out the time wasters.
Lastly, having a room to meet up with allies, friends and guildmates (by invite) would enhance the game, encourage assistance between alliances (when you actually get to chat to someone it's more likely that you are going to want to help them) and to discuss alliance business in real time.
An awesome idea and I hope that HCS impliment it soon!!
There's this amazing thing called...
MSN chat for real time convos between as many as you like
and Yahoo has one too

yeah I agree, there are many outsourced options to chat, however as a game improvement wouldnt you love to see this in FS? Could be a nice gold sink in many different ways as well.I vote a great big YES because it is an excellent suggestion.

Sure it would, but it would be a massive undertaking, and probably a sure source of lag. I play a couple of games that have real time chat ingame and also for the "guilds" They are always crashing the games themselves. And these games don't have thousands online at any given time.

well, Im not sure how the real time chat part came about, my orignial idea would make it function just like the exsisting guild chat, only it would allow the option to allow in people from other guilds and such without them leaving their current guilds, it was a way to help allies actually become allies in a better more together way.yeah I agree, there are many outsourced options to chat, however as a game improvement wouldnt you love to see this in FS?
