Some people have been complaining that there are too many legendary sets and items in the game, and a few have been complaining that there aren't enough. I think that there is a solution.

My idea (which may or may not have been suggested before) is to have legendary creatures appear at all times, but when there are too many sets in the game, the legendary creatures disappear until the percentage of legendary sets per creature to players in the game drops to a certain level. For example (since I know I make no sense):...

Imagine that there were only 100 players in the game and only one legendary monster, called Legendary the Plagued. HCS would put this creature into the game in whatever realms they wanted to. When there are ten of each item that Legendary the Plagued drops, for a 10% legendary sets per creature to players in the game ratio , HCS pulls Legendary the Plagued out of the game for a while. Then, time passes and the population of FS more than doubles. Lets say that, now there are 210 people in the game. This would mean the the legendary sets per creature to players in the game ratio would be 10 to 210, or less than 5%. At that point, HCS would bring back Legendary the Plagued until there were 21 sets in the game, bringing the ratio back up to 10%. This is just an example using random numbers.

This would solve the problem of there being too many or not enough sets in the game, because it would mean that the creatures would automaticly disappear once there were enough sets, and they would automaticly come back once there weren't enough.

If you don't understand what I'm saying, then please don't vote in the poll, just tell me what you don't understand and I will respond (hopefully...)

no

this just would be another one of those creature that are there for the se-hunters from now then.

Only difference is that you'll remove them based on amount of people the game has.

Good point, I didn't think about that...

Probably won't happen.

Did you know that there are likely over 2000 rouge black holes in our galaxy alone. Each of them can reach very high speeds, even in space terms, are each capable of destroying anything in their path, and are invisible. Well, goodnight!

I can't tell if I like this idea or not, but this isn't the reason. Why would this be a creature for SE hunters? The legendaries are killable by most people that run into them with normal guild groups (or less). If this creature was similar it would be for whoever found it to kill it.

I see the advantage of keeping the sets to a lower number. But 10% is probably too high. 175,000 Plague sets would be more than enough to keep prices pretty low I would think. We don't get to see numbers of things like this but I bet there aren't that many full sets in game.

10% was just a random number I used. I agree it's too high, I just used it because it's easy to figure out 10% of anything instantly

Well intentioned, but I like the thrill of an upcoming legendary event. The whole guild gets all worked up....the new players and the old....er...um....more experienced players. That's why the Crystaline sets were a good idea for an LE....they go away after a while. It keeps the price on them copmpetitive and like a good ming vase, the price is only sure to rise on good quality crystaline items. Maybe it's a question of coming up with a variation of that. Here are some things off the top of my head:
1) A Legendary Monster that drops crystaline items that also buffs you, instead of the usual bonuses like Reinforced Armor, Nullify, etc. Maybe even buffs that we don't have currently available. I've seen many ideas for new buffs. They could have stats like Elite items, but when combined as a set you get the buff bonus. You get it as long as you wear the set equipped, but then of course the item will be worn out faster.
2) A Legendary Mosnter that drops a purely defensive Crytsline set with very low durability. The spine sets are offer a huge damage boost, so instead offer the opposite. A player who sometimes has to carry a lot of gold might find this highly desirable. BUT it would have a lower durability than the current Crystaline items.
3) A " " that drops items of normal durability and are legendary in every aspect, but that can only be killed by an attack group. I don't mean stat-wise either. I mean like a relic attack. This would recude the number of drops significantly as players would have to waste 20x the stamina, so to speak just to hit one. So, you release the LM at say level 110 and give it stats similar to an Elite from lvl 110, but make it so only an attack group can kill it. (this is my least favorite idea here, but these are off the top my head).
4) A Legendary Monster that drops potions only.

Maybe there is a suggestion out there for this already, but I figured one of the older...er...more experienced players would have said so already.

encourages the mass production of multis

not to mention the fact that whats to say how many sets there should be out there. just because people complain doesn't mean that anything should be done. Its when everyone agrees that something needs to happen

I really like the first two ideas, and the third one would definitely work for keeping the number of sets down. But the problem with the fourth one is that it makes the legendary monsters boring, unless they drop REALLY good potions . Why would anybody waste stam hunting for potions when you can get most of them in the AH for a couple thousand at the most?

Novle idea probably, but what about crystaline? You could have monsters that drop sets with 11 or 28 durability, that are fairly common, but are non repairable ... especially for levels 30-50 and such. This way even if there ends up being a lot of the sets out there eventually most of them will become useless and there for there will always be a need for them.

It's not bad, and it does keep the number of sets in shape, but it would give SE hunters the chance. I like it, but I doubt it would happen. Sorry.

No matter what you do if there's a rare creature that people want the gear from, some one will farm it. That can't be helped or stopped unless the items are Bound. If they are bound then there would have to be a way to ensure that only 1 of each would drop for a person cause it would suck to have 5 helms, 3 boots 2 gloves, but no armor after trying to kill the thing a dozen times.

Only after you had 1 complete set would it drop repeats. But I am almost certian that would take some major coding to check invantory before awarding a drop, if anything did drop. Besides making the gear Bound sort of detracts from the desire to work to get it cause you'll never be able to sell it.

I agree. It won't happen. I think this is sort of what they do anyway isn't it? Only, maybe they "miscounted" how many drops would come in last invasion. And the "new legendary that drops buff giving pieces" is pretty much from this thread

http://forum.fallens...pic.php?t=61002

So, not to toot my own but... This part of it can be discussed/suggested there.
