VL is unfair

I think its quite unfair.
Lets say I am level 160 and a level 162 de levels me 5 times. Now, I cant wear my Sam set but the target can and he can still kill me. The target can kill me as long as he wants. He can even keep hitting until i am level 5. I think its truly unfair.
I think that your LEVEL should determine whether someone is in your level range or not instead of your Virtual level.

also if you get deleveled just don't take off your equipment. You can't put it back on, but you don't have to take it off either.
doesn't work. i tried. lol. was level 150, wore my santork set and got deleveled. all stats that the santork set gives disappeared. equiping items that are higher level than you are is the same as joining a low level pvp arena with high level equips.

The VL is totally fair. The problem isn't the VL it is the fact that you were deleveled. I mean, if you didn't keep your VL you'd not be able to wear the set you got deleveled out of anyway. I don't see the problem in that regard.
Moral of the story is don't get deleveled if you don't want to lose a set. It may be one of the harsher penalties available from a bounty, but without it the abuse would be massive.

interesting... I retract my statement then.

Level 46
Overall game rank: top 10...
This is a man who got bored...
He deleveled himself to level 1...
He had a nice number of *BASE STAT POINTS*... 45 * 2 = 90...
He used these extra 90 stat points to wreak HAVOK on level 5 players in PvP...
Thus VL was created...
You don't learn from history it is bound to be repeated...
I think VL is fine as is... I just think... the only change is... you should be able to *MOVE* to realms *UP TO* your *VL*...

I've seen that on people before too. However - and this is a bug imho - if you are wearing a broken Spine set you still get the set bonuses. I know, different but the same.

Well, if you think wisely about this. If you do get de leveled you make less gold so less gold in the game. I think that the game should try to encourage you to get de leveled so you make less gold while the VL is doing the opposite.

Yeah, since you will have all of your base stats and usually no change in equipment unless u get de-leveled massively but then you should still be able to go to the next highest level down to train and gain your levels lost back.

You can get deleveled all you want. Everything about the game except pvp runs from your actual level. PvP runs from your virtual level so you can't abuse the system to pester people below your level.

I can gerenally get a setup to kill something fine with items that are 50 levels lower then I am... thus I was able to let myself get deleveled a bit when I was level 275, so long as I kept myself above level 248, I could still kill the monsters in teh realm I was in... the only problem I had, was I couldn't leave teh realm, cuz if I did, I'd never be able to go back there...

Yeah, and they can't take away level up points away so u still should have the same stats as u had before u went below your VL and thus still be able to kill the creatures...
imo u should be able to travel to any realm but they put level caps for the newbies who will keep dieing then quit the game because i could easily kill higher level monsters.. back when i was level 55 i was killing the burrow grubs [lvl 65] with 1 hit

Another thing one can do, if they aren't bountied and are having an issue with the Delevel thing is buy the xp protection at certian levels to ensure they aren't sent below that point.

The VL and current level have different purposes.
VL should prevent you from attacking low level players when you have extra base stat points. i.e. you can only attack within 5 of your VL.
Current level should prescribe which players can attack you. i.e. you can only be attacked by people within 5 levels of you as you are currently.
So for determining PvP attacks:
Attacker's level should be VL.
Attackees's level should be current level.
What do you think?
no

Did you know that there are likely over 2000 rouge black holes in our galaxy alone. Each of them can reach very high speeds, even in space terms, are each capable of destroying anything in their path, and are invisible. Well, goodnight!
