Well that is all good and dandy, but just cuz you don't won't stop others from it... normally I don't have a problem with it... but if someone cusses me out and harasses me at the same time... odds are I'll get pissed off...just dont swear in messages and the problem is solved.

I am sick and tired of people I have met and started a good friendship with and then just getting their accounts terminated for swearing/abusing people.
This is a clear sign that you make friends with the wrong people
If something is forbidden and punishable, there's no need to spend efforts on making filters for it - terminating the accounts is anyway a filter of sorts
Edit: Anyway I don't believe in automatic filters. The only things they achieve is that people learn how to bypass them and will be more creative in their insults. It really doesn't make any difference to be called id10t instead of idiot

This is, of course, just my opinion. But, no to filters! \o/ Why do you want the FS guys to spend time on a filter when they could be making exciting new content anyway? =)

Did you know that there are likely over 2000 rouge black holes in our galaxy alone. Each of them can reach very high speeds, even in space terms, are each capable of destroying anything in their path, and are invisible. Well, goodnight!

I have a 6 year old daughter, she doesn't play the game, but I do get rather fumed wen I hear people casually swear just randomly, like they were using pennies.
Anyway as for a filter, would be a nice idea for the basics but as pointed out it would take time away from new content.

And if you just swear at someone, why can't you just ignore 'em?
Plus, if there were younger people in here, I would like them banned pleased. It really really destroyed the game I used to play, so it made it completely harmless...like coating the whole word with bubble wrap seven times over. They can admit their age and then they can play once their birthday reaches the appropriate age (13).
