1.yes theres the bounty system where you can bounty other players who attacked you,put a stake(usually small for not so serious attacks)and bounty hunters will hit your target 10 times and claim the reward you put on their heads.however this is not recommanded in the earily stages, not very useful until you are lvl 20 or something

2.it recovers 50 per hour as you probably realized by now.it recovers more if you join a big guild with lots of structures.and no storing/reserving stamina for later is not possible in this game

3.i dont see the question......is just a bunch of statements......and well wether you need better stuff or not is up to you.try to 1-hit-KO the monsters you kill in order to get the maxium out of a 500 stamina train.if it takes you serveral hits to kill the creatures, you probably should work on getting better gears.also make sure your in the highest level realm you can reach so that the creatures you kill gives you the proper amount of exp to level properly

4.the stamina thing on those items is maxium stamina not current stamina.and yes when you take off an item that gives max stamina, and you are at your max, your stamina will be something like 520/500 and your current ones WONT disappear

I have just discovered Fallen Sword and so far, like what I see. I do have some questions however.

Glad to head you like the game :D

1. Several times so far, random people have attacked and killed me. Is this something I should be concerned about? Most of them are substantially higher level than I and I don't stand much of a chance. (At level 3 I actually got a level 8 guy down to 2 HP before I bit it! :) ) Is it accepted practice to go around and kill all the newbies?

PvP is part of the game... generally at low levels people attack for amounts of gold they think are alot... later on you will learn that there is too much gold going around in the game... and that you can lose alot from some attacks... I find PvP fun but if I am trying to steal someone's gold I probably won't hit someone with under 2,000,000 gold but at your level even a bit of gold such as 1,000 might make you a target... know this though... you get 1 bank deposit a day, so after you are done training and such you can deposit 25% of all your gold to your bank [
'Actions' > 'Bank'] or click on that gold icon at the top bar; or your guild bank when you get a guild... you can also buy more bank deposits to deposit more gold on the upgrades page ['Upgrades' > 'Use Points']...

You can try PvP and see if you find it fun too :D better early on then later...

2. Other than paying real money or playing the game all the time, is there any way to recover stamina? I work for a living and can't play the game every few hours, therefore my stamina is going to suck rather egregiously whenever I do play and I'm not going to be able to level up. I just got the hang of playing the game, but now am out of stamina, so I can't play anymore. :( Is there any way to save up the stamina from during the week to use on the weekend?

You will gain stamina every hour at teh rate of 50 regardless of what you are doing or if you are online or offline...
You can increase your maximum stamina and stamina gain using FallenSword points...
Upgrading Maximum stamina to 24 hours of your stamina gain is a good idea...
There are a few items that have stamina in them...
Items [levels]
Rune of Stamina [3]
Cloth Gloves of Stamina [5]
Rune of Constitution [6]
Frost Falchion [11]
Jara Rune [12]
Defender of Eribor Blade [13]
Thick Hide Boots [13]
Frost Dragon Gloves [15]
Green Orbish Rune [25]
Forest Guardian Amulet [25]
Reborn Guardian Amulet [25]
Fire Dragon Ring [35]
Altered Dark Crystal [37]
Sunstone Ring [44]
Shaped Ruby Ring [45]
Dark Woven Boots [46]
Hilted Boots [49]
Leaf Dragon Gloves [70]
Leaf Dragon Amulet [70]
Leaf Dragon Rune [70]
Cracked Lava War Hammer [100]
Sets [levels]
Hellfire [53]
Yeltz [55]
Gurgriss [100]
Mancrusha [120]
Maximus [400]
As well as that if you join a guild there is a guild structure called the 'Tranquil Retreat' which increases your Max Stamina... and a guild structure called the 'Endurance Shrine' which increases your Stamina gain per hour...
And on top of that if you are in a guild there are some relics which increase your max stamina, there are also relics which increase your stamina gain per hour...

3. When I get a bunch of items in my backpack, instead of dropping them, I send them to random level 1/2 characters that I encounter because nothing ever seems to sell on the auction house. Do I just need better stuff? (It is annoying to see people sell for 37GP the same shield that I have for sale with a starting bid of 1GP and buy-it-now price of 25GP...)

Sending items to newbs is a GREAT way to make friends to play with later on...

Also you start off with 3 BackPack Slots and 2 Auction House slots...
You can destroy items in your backpack by clicking on 'Character' > 'Profile' then finding and clicking on the link labeled ['manage'] on top of the area where you backpack is... after that you check the items you want to destroy and click on the button at the bottom to destroy them...
You can destroy junk items, or try Auctioning them on the Auction House ['Actions' > 'Auction House'] at an attempt to make a bit of extra gold/FSP...
You can also increase the amount of BackPack slots you have on the Upgrades page ['Upgrades' > 'Use Points']... for the price of 15 FallenSword Points per each new slot...
You can also increase the amount of Auction House slots you have on the Upgrades page ['Upgrades' > 'Use Points']... for the price of 20 FallenSword Points per each new slot...
Any auction house items that do not sell will be available in your 'Mailbox' for a period of 24 hours after the auction ends for you to collect it back into your backpack...

4. Related to item 2, I bought a Rune of Stamina on the auction house, which said raises stamina by 20. It doesn't matter if I equip it or not - my stamina stays at the same level. Does 'raise stamina by 20' indicate only that it raises maximum stamina by 20? If so, if I were to equip this item and wait a week before playing again, would I be able to equip a different rune and not lose the boost in stamina or would the extra 20 stamina points leave with the rune?

Any item that raises stamina raises your Max stamina, otherwise you could just keep equipping and unequipping it ;) there is a few sets with stamina gain later on in the game...

So far, I really like the game with the exception of the stamina system - makes it so that I can't play when I can/want to. I know it's probably meant to eliminate people from playing 24/7 and unbalancing the game, but come on - there are level 300+ characters on using the current system!

Well stamina is your friend, there are some people with no life who would be level 1000+ if there wasn't stamina... it also gives you time to do other things like school and work and not worry about people who ONLY play the comp...

Well cheers and good luck ^_^
Hope I was helpful =]

I really appreciate the time and effort you guys spent replying. I understand the point behind stamina and am going to give it a fair chance before firmly deciding that I don't like it. :)

Thanks again for all the hints and tips.

No problem, glad to help... be sure to come back if you have anymoar questions ^_^
