Hi guys.
In our ongoing fight against Scammers, it has been decided that we shall no longer allow the sale of Guilds. Far too many people are getting burnt by doing so and it causes too many problems.
Plus a Guild should be passed from one trusted member to another. It is a group of friends and allies and to just sell it to anyone for FSP seems disrespectful to your Guild Mates.
Also to help against Scammers, it is now forbidden to use the Shoutbox and FSBox to beg and borrow for Gold and FSP. Do not reply to them. If anything, we would like you to report anyone doing this. Thusly we should be able to weed out the Scammers and Conmen.
This is a result of high levels of tickets regarding these issues.
Hi all,
We've just terminated loads of accounts for begging and attempted scams. Please remember that begging for FSPs/items, selling guilds or requesting to 'borrow' FSP etc. is against the rules and will result in your character being terminated.

HCS also banned lottos a while back.
NOW: some of those rules are good, but some of those rules are silly.
FIRST THE GOOD:
1. Lottos where people have to pay in are no good as it is easy to scam someone.
2. Selling Guilds, like selling Characters is also no good and just encourages and rewards multis and cheats.
3. Banning the use of the SB to beg is good, i mean if U have FSPs for the SB, u don't need to beg.
NOW THE BAD:
1. Phool (for example) should be able to run a contest and give away gold or FSPs. Nobody is hurt, nobody risks anything. In my old guild i ran a math and leveling competition and gave away FSPs, potions and gold for the winners. I just gave it away. Nobody risked anything and it helped build community and encouraged people to learn how to play the game well. That should be OK. If nobody has to contribute anything then nobody risks anything and nobody can get ripped off.
2. Guildmates, Real life friends, even strangers should be able to ask for gold/items/FSPs... I once lent a guild mate 800 FSPs and he paid it back, i just got paid back 65 FSPs on another loan i made. I often send gold to friends to help them with their deposit. I have sent gold to friends for them to hold it. I have often sent items to my real life brother who also plays the game. I have borrowed gold from him... Surly people have a responsibility to think before they lend... Even strangers should be able to ask for stuff. People bargain on price, people ask for credit on buffs, i just lent a guild mate 4 FSPs (what is the harm in that)... likewise i often sends noobs 2000 gold if they ask for it (politely)... doesn't hurt me and it lets them buy a sweet little infernus set... Plus i can always iggy annoying beggers (i have 4 pages now)
ANYWAY. the point.
1. HCS should allow people to run community building competitions and give away anything they want (even guilds) so long as nobody has to pay anything and therefore there is no risk.
2. People should be allowed to "beg"/ ask for assistance from their fellow adventurers in the HCS community. They may be ignored, but they should be allowed to ask. I think it is a pretty basic freedom to ask for assistance from friends, guildmates and strangers.
