Other than that the idea is fine.

Sure it seems fine, since my logs do get spammed quite a lot from random messages, and I get a lot of messages off lots of people with requests for different things, this might help me lessen and organize my logs....O.o

Did you know that there are likely over 2000 rouge black holes in our galaxy alone. Each of them can reach very high speeds, even in space terms, are each capable of destroying anything in their path, and are invisible. Well, goodnight!

I am not sure where Vin is getting this. PoLC never uses Mass Messages to chat. A Mass Message is only used for important reasons at PoLC...
That's what happens at DWU also, and that's one of the things I was trying to say in my post. If you want to chat with your guild, use guild chat. That's what its for, isn't it?

It sounds like you need a guild policy about what is appropriate for mass messaging, and what should be left to guild chat.

We don't give members the ability to Mass Message until they have reached a certain rank. Most members who get to that rank have been in our guild for over 100 levels and by then they have learned not to use mass messages as chat.

As I said, we have a policy. We never use Mass Messages to say 'Hi' or 'Bye'.
Vin could just be generally speaking though

Sorry, I missed the fact that you were in the same guild.

The "Hi" and "Bye" were merely examples of what might be considered less important. The policy of PoLC on mass messages has nothing to do with this.
My idea is about the difference between important mass messages being send to everybody and less important mass messages that are only being send to those that really concern the message.
Like the "join the group"-messages. Even though there is a message displayed on the left side of the screen whenever a new group is formed, I still come online to a whole bunch of "join my/his/her group" messages. Hours after the group had a successful or unsuccessful hunt.
Or the "we're going to bounty this guy"-messages. Again, if I'm offline, there's no need to send that message to me.
Alright. Thanks for clearing that up.
And as for the suggestion, I agree with it
