I know Component selling on the AH has been turned down, along with private trades, all for the same reason. However, Guilds are supposed to be cooperatives, and I think trading components between guild members or depositing them into a guild storage would be handy, especially if member bob is hunting blood blooms and member doug is hunting dark shades and member mackenzie is buying bottles.

Same as guild tagging though, components could not be traded to non-guild members.

Guilds could hunt for components together to help them grow together. Build a stronger sense of unity. This would also provide room for guild upgrades in the storage, trading capacity, stacking, etc.

PS - I voted yes... :P

I'm bumping this because it got buried by the new skill launch.

I agree with this completly! Recently my Guild went on a "Potion crusade" where all of us tried to create the same potion everyday, then the next we each selected a different potion etc...would have been nice to get those Blood Bloom flowers from the people who only needed roots.

Guild-jumping is not that hard to accomplish (see Tharn's world tour), and neither is starting a guild.

So I can start a guild and invite my customers to join, sell them the components they need, and then kick them out again.

The possibility for exploitation is very high.

While that is a valid point, how many people are going to leave their guild. lose all their accumulated exp contributed just to buy components.

I rather like the idea of sharing componants between guild members.

I meant starting a guild for the sole purpose of using it as a component shop, not everything a guild is supposed to be.

You'd invite in anyone looking to buy components, they buy them, then leave.

If there was a way to insure against this I'd be all for it.

And not everyone belongs to a guild. Its a small number of players at a high enough level to worry about potion making, but the possibility exists.

maybe you can have it where the components are dropped or returned when the person leaves the guild

well again, you may get some wandering merchants out of that, but you'd need people willing to dedicate themselves to having no guild and no guild experience. It would be a very small number of people I imagine... Any players who quit their guilds just to join a component trading guild would lose all their accumulated guild experience and would likely not be let back into their old guild anyway...

Most people would be more interested in sharing components within their guild, I imagine, as it would be easier to buy guild components in the AH than sacrifice 6 months of guild xp just to find a cheap blood bloom flower...

If you try to make every improvement to insure that nobody will ever profit from it, then this is the wrong game... I think you're looking for Comrade Stalin's "Let's form a Glorious Republic!" MMO...
