EXCHANGE CAMERAS

Tired of looking for that moving exchange, and risking lives to check the exchange rates, the BoW staff set out on a mission to make the exchange a better place.

Tapping into Hoof's super secret security system (Ok, not really, just a really nifty coding feat by Jinxeth), we now have 24/7 video footage of the exchanges!

NA'GATH HOLE CAMERA

Also, more recently, the BoW staff got frustrated looking for that pesky Na'Gath Hole.

Once again tapping into the security network (A.K.A. Jinxeth's code monkey skills), the BoW presents the Na'Gath Hole Cam!

AUCTION HOUSE FEED

Wanna know what the latest shiny is up on the auction block? Never fear, the BoW is here!

The reason we can't locate the chests, is because while there is only 1 exchange in the Frozen North, there are at least 30 quests in the Gothador realm.

So where it would be a simple Detect > Exchange in the FN, trying to set it up to do a little "Seek and destroy" for the Harren/Magic chest(s) would just be hell.

I will pass the idea along though :)

EDIT: Ok, talked to them about it, and it's a no-go. I should have thought of it myself, but there really is good way to find the chests other then by luck. The chests also moving every time someone finds them is a factor as well. Sorry :(

It is possible to locate the chests but the cost is roughly 1112 action points which is why it can't really be offered as a service. We could set it up as a "pay for" service where you pay via pay-pal to cover the cost of the AP but if you're going to do that, you might as well locate it yourself.

Besides, even if you did pay to cover the AP, you'd get given the co-ords of the chests but there would be nothing to stop someone else stumbling upon it, opening it and thus moving it before you got there.

So I'm afriad that with the chests, the best bet is the old fashioned way :) Grab yourself a copy of the Goth map in excel and start detecting :) Now that the Detect skill has been upgraded to J.Detect 1.0 (i.e. Hoof fixed it after I pointed out it was broken) and that excel map is generated on the fly from the BoW (so its always up to date) its actually not too bad:

1. Mark on the excel map where you are
2. Detect Quest
3. Check the location isn't already marked on the map
4. If it is, count how many AP it is to that quest location and then mark that many squares in each direction as "Search".
5. Move outside of the searched area and detect again
6. Goto 3

There's a thread which also has some great tips about doing this. Just make sure you have plenty of time and plenty of AP before you start. Ideally, you should do it during a quieter time (like 9am game time).

THe quests are hard for a reason. This is taking it a bit too far.

Aye. What I'm talking about here is just using the Sight+ skill. Anybody can cover a 100x100 realm in 1112 AP if they can be bothered to use the AP.

I assume you are talking about a service to locate stuff rather than using excel maps? Cos I can't see what's wrong with using excel maps and giving people tips on how to locate quests (or, in fact, using Sight+ since it is in the game for that very reason).
