We throw away such useless metal every minute we are on, but what if we could break down those metals into say common, rare, unique metallic components that can be combined with plant materials to forge more powerful items. I am always wondering about the point of the shops scattered round 95% of the sell useless items...

What do you think?

interesting concept

Common items = common smelt Could be used in potions (Dont really see much need in creating new items.)

Common smelt would help the potion have a better chance when creating a potion, more smelt used the better the chance.

Rare and unique items = Rune smelt Would add time to the potions if created successfully, more smelt used = longer potion times.

LE Items = LE Smelt Adding in LE smelt (from any LE item) would have an effect to increase potion strength. make a LV25 go to LV50 depending on the amount of smelt used in the potion.

The LE Smelt would be nice, it would also help the market along as well as allow potions to be stronger (both of which is a common complaint among players)

After smelting an Item (if successful) it would go to your components section of your BP just like plant extracts.

This could be a very nice addition to the game, Maybe even have a structure to help with smelting and all. Smelting could still fail too.

Everything up to LE I think would work... but using LE items for potion crafting would mean the disappearance of alot of LE items from the game... just for a potion which may last a few hours and then it's gone.

LE equipment prices would go through the roof... even those wagonloads of powerless plague helms would suddenly be worth a mint.

yeah, which in turn would help the market recover more quickly after an LE event and possibly allow the game to hold more LE events. It would also give a good use to all the worthless plague items around now.

It would eliminate the excess LE items for sure, but then it would surpass that to the point where truly valuable items would be getting sacrificed for a potion with dubious merit... then we'd need LE's every other week just to keep up...

I'd hate to loan my PFF Pumpkin helm to some new guild member only to have it smelted into a "potion-of-temporary-benefit-to-an-idiot-who-doesn't-know-the-value-of-a-pumpkin-helm"

And just think of the additional damage a hacker could do... We already know you can wipe the guild tag and forging of a pick axe by inventing a mystic pick axe...
