They won't ever be an opt out from PvP.
At least I hope so because HCS would lose a good part of their members.
Learn more about game before posting stuff like this please

We should stop calling it an opt out, because it wouldn't be permanent in any way. It would only be a higher level of an existing skill. Should they get rid of the Doubler 1200 potions, too? If Deflect (up to level 175) already has a place in the game, why not Deflect level 400? Or maybe 250, 300, or 350, to provide a PvP deterrent without conferring complete protection.

Mainly it would be used for hunting; you get Deflect 400 so you can hunt and accumulate enough gold to buy 1 FSP without fear of being attacked, and would be a gold sink for non-PvPers.

As far as learning more about the game, maybe you could tell me what I need to know. I know that PvP will always be part of the game (emphasis on part), but how would this change the game for the worse?

See you know it.
Deflect 175 is already enough of a bugger for PvPers, why ofer more...

Again, PvP is part of the game, but only a part. This lets the PvPers still do what they want to do (there are enough players out there to find one that doesn't have Deflect), and the non-PvPers (who are a significant minority of the playerbase) get better protection at a price. This thread was about ideas for gold sinks, right? This would create one for non-PvPers; I don't see why PvPers would really care.

Because... If a player can opt out of PvP for some time during is hunt, how do you want PvPers to find targets with gold to hit?

As a non-PvPer, I don't. :P

Basically, to get a good enough defensive set to defend against attacks, you have to accumulate quite a bit of gold/FSP. But if that gets taken away so often, there's no way to get there. HCS won't ever get rid of PvP, but they might have a financial reason to make sure that non-PvPers don't get too frustrated and leave; a smaller playerbase is bad for everyone.

Another random thought. Sell scrolls like potion bottles. Scrolls can be embued with a single buff that you cast on it and then sold in the AH or placed in a tome. The tome acts like a backpack that can hold 5 scroll pages but could be upgraded with FSP to hold 30 pages.

Just an idea, since we all loved the Double XP Event recently...

How about a donation shrine for events? The idea is that anyone within the game can donate to trigger a server wide event.

Example: Once a total of 1 trillion gold is accrued, a double xp event will occur.

It doesn't have to be 1 trillion gold or a double xp event, but it needs to be rather large and it could be a "super elites" unleashed across the lands, etc.

Not only is this a gold sink, but there is a bigger reason why I like this idea. It helps the small people! High level players are going to be the ones who likely donate more gold overall, but then everyone within the game reaps the benefits. Oh yeah, then stick a medal in the game for being the most altruistic/philanthropic.

To expound on this idea...

Like the above said, make a donation shrine, and it can trigger certain events, LE, SE, titans, dbl xp, maybe buff everyone with a mid-lvl buff? and it is done when the shrine reahces a certain point, after that, it resets.

Now the reason i am saying this, is it could possibly be a very large gold sink, just take away the normal release of titans, SE's, and LE's, and make them only spawn with the shrine, and ya might make multiple shrine, like the temple, but for mass benefits, instead of only yourself, a buff shrine, XP, shrine, LE, SE shrines, idk just ideas.

Also to get more gold donated, make it reset every 24 hours, and the higher the gold in the sdhrine, the better the reward?

i think there should be upgrades for gold :D or the option to pay in gold rather than fsp like this:
Upgrade Inventory Slot 10 FSP or 500,000 gold

1.Introduction of Auction House Rush delivery to sink gold.

How it will work:

Let's say you buy an item. But you need it IMMEDIATELY. No problem. After buying it, just click the rush delivery button next to the item and you can have the item delivered to your mailbox for the price of the items level * 100 (Example: you want Helmet of Xenix rushed to your mailbox? 245*100 = 24,500 gold [all sunk]).

If you're buying a Special Section potion, you get it rushed for 10% of the price you paid instead. :]

2. reintroduction of the rare item lottery. This sunk TONS of gold before, and it'll do it again.

3. + XP per hour bonus to top 25 Gold Hoarders and 1/5th of that + XP per hour to the members of top 25 Richest Guilds... some XP in exchange of holding huge amount of gold and competing for that XP, motivation based solution (avvakum's idea)

4. More and different special section potions.

5. Potions sold in shops for higher than they are going for in the AH

6. Carefully Change certain upgrades to be purchasable with gold, to create extra combat sets, buy extra component slots, and to buy extra bio characters.

7. Add 7-8 more stamina gain upgrades purchasable with 2.5 million gold each.

8. Additional Gold Fee for Crafting; maybe: 100 gold* FSP cost of crafting * the item level. (IE Cost of crafting Tri helm with master crafter is 100* 5 (500) * 335 = 167,500 gold) Perhaps an upgrade to the crafters workshop could reduce the price of this fee :)

9. Treasure Chests in game: They cost an asserted amount of gold to open and there is one in each realm that contains a champion (or new quest, I will explain). Each chest cannot be seen on the map, you must defeat the champion which may drop a treasure map that makes the treasure chest visible on the game map. Inside the treasure chest can be anything from Nothing to a piece of the writhing ward. It will be completely random each time (so that you can't say "hey the chest near blue chasm gives you x insane item!!" to your friends) You only get one chance to open the chest and it has to be within ten minutes of landing on the square which has it. When you land on the square, a merchant appears on the square and he offers you a key to the chest, but you must give him x amount of gold to receive the key. The cost of the key will likely determine how great the prize is (IE the key costs you 5k gold you will likely get nothing, the key costs you 5 million gold you will likely get something great). The other option of attaining a map and/or key is via new quests.

I'll post more as i remember more.

+1

Okay..gonna throw 2 ideas together here that I agreed with that I noticed and see how this flies.

Agreed with champions that guarded chests and then paying a certain amount to open the chests and also agreed with the idea of a special area on a map that you had to pay to gain access to. Here's the idea though.

Like mentioned, a certain area on a map you have to pay to gain access to. Instead of monsters being in this cave, there is a chest to open. To gain access, you pay say...5000 gold times the players level. that means for a level 1 person to gain entry, they would have to pay 5000 gold. for a level 100 person, they would have to pay 500,000...and so forth. big gold sink there. Second part to this, a champion or elite to fight to gain access to the chest. This elite/champion would be on the same level range as the player, not as the level range the cave is in. The chest, you pay 100 gold times your level to open. Now to make this more appealing, the chest item would be a random LE, SE, or Crystalline item of value and would be within 100 levels of the person's level, no more, no less. this would keep a level 1 player from obtaining...say for instance..a destroyer item or anything like that.

Once the player leaves the cave, the cost to enter it again is increased by 1-5% over what it was. Another way to ensure this doesn't make the AH get flooded is that these items gained from the chests in these special areas would be BOUND to the player who obtains them. They would not be able to trade them or sell them for profit. Also, they would only be able to access the cave 2 or 3 times in a given week or 2 weeks time frame so the player doesn't abuse it and go in there just to gain new items every day. The only ways these items would be unbound is if they were used to create another item through inventing or they could pay a certain amount of gold to have them unbound permanently...like say...5mil gold to make it unbound.

Thoughts? Opinions? Let me know. :D

create a betting arena..... 1v1 Creature vs creature... or 1 v2 or 1v3 depending on the creatures in fight....... u set a bid against it say its 2 earth tins vs 1 air titan bid amount 500k.....

of course HCS would refine tha and make it make more sence haha

but anyway u get what im getting at

pleanty of people are bound to lose thier gold wich will wht xD

also

you could make Demi God creatures
no drop, no gold gain....... you have to pay 100k to attack one
and ad 50k everytime after

give tem thier own little map say about the same size as elemental, and u can only kill 1 on each trip in, so u have to leave and come back by paying to kill another

WHAT NO DROP!!!!!! yea no drop or gold gain... but guess what medal collectors.... DemiGod Slayer medal sounds pretty epic doesnt it xD

Wanna suck money out of the game, make buffs require offering of money to the 'gods' and stamina to cast. THAT will suck gold out like nobody's business.

Cost of buff = Stamina cost + (buff level x 10)

Or a BETTER idea: Take away after-combat HP regeneration! That will sink like 500 gold for level 100 to fully heal at hospitals! And player could spend 100 gold to buy HP pack that restores 50 HP.
