I wonder if the cows have time to read all the suggestions on the boards. Perhaps there could be a few positions created to screen the suggestions and submit the top 10% to the HCS for consideration.

well, as an attacker I have seen it often enough, so I assume
it is not really needed in the logs then :P

No, I don't need to be reminded that deflect kicked in on my prey. IMO. it's a useless buff, and when it's cast on me, I turn it off. If you want to buff me, give me something helpful, like SW, or FS or Flinch. I want to actively foil attackers on the BB, not passively.

I think you guys are smoking something -- not you Pennah and Mr. I-Speak-In-Third-Person (Bleltch)... -- I get a little "Your Attack has been Deflected" note -- and, even though it doesn't go to my log.. that's darn good enough. I really don't feel like having a laundry list of failures in my log... feels almost like work, then.

And, not to hijack the thread too much. I have a bone to contend with those who say that making Deflect burn stamina would kill PvP.

First -- to me, the idea that someone loses 3+ million xp for taking 10,000 XP and 5,000 gold from another player is RETARDED.

It becomes all about being part of a thoroughly organized crime syndicate such as "The Wicked Players" -- No, I am not bashing on them... just noting that they are run not unlike the Russian Mafia. I just need to determine if the rumors of Vodka are true.

So, to me -- when say.. 10 people get together and de-level another person five levels.. that's 10 people.. each sharing a load of 900 stamina-loss for the sake of doing this delevel... that same loss -- translates into approximately 10,500 for that player to regain those levels.
~4,500 != ~10,500.

Now, should these values to totally equal? No. That's why it's called 'retribution'.

However, it would still be awful nice if Deflect actually did something other than provide a little breathing room in GvG and make people ask themselves "do I really want to steal that gold?" for two extra seconds before attacking you when you are selling Fallen Sword Points (FSP).

So, why not a drastic overhaul of Deflect?

Make it cost 50-100 stamina. Keep the duration since it's of so limited-a-use... raise the level and switch it with Constitution (Con) maybe. (say.. put Con at 200) and Deflect at 300. Then, make Deflect burn stamina of the attack. Also make it a .2% not a .25% chance per point of activating.

I believe this would give people an actual chance against the guilds that only conduct PvP or that are heavily organized into it. By people, I refer to those who are in smaller guilds, guilds that don't support PvP, and those loners out there who would not have had guild support anyway.

Thank you -- please bring on the counter points.

The (failed) attacker would get a message: I would find this especially helpful when taking multiple bounties to know who needs to be hit next instead of remembering which one got deflected.

The attackee may not even be on the BB. If I am holding more than 400k or so, I put on deflect to try and discourage hits for gold. If somebody tried it and was deflected I would like to know this so I can sell the gold quick, deposit it, or send to a guild mate to hold.

pythonspam if someone attacks you and it's deflected you DO get a message in your log, it's only the attacker that doesn't.

What does the message say? I have never gotten one and there have been many times I am under a bounty and have deflect.

Not if you're the attacker.

I got the perfect log message

"HA HA LOSER YOUR ATTACK FAILED AND YOU LOST YOUR STAMINA"

or maybe

"U PHALE @ PVP LUZOR!"

how about

"We regret to inform you that your attack has preformed an illegal function and must be terminated. Enjoy your cup of fail. This message is brought to you by Deflect. Thank you and have a nice day"

that would be nice if they actually lost their stamina or the right to attack for an hour but sadly, that isnt how it works. But the message still rocks!
