No actually, it is not. This is something I like the sound of but will require a huge amount of work. As someone mentioned, I intend to create Arena Only items and sets in the New Year. It'll take time as at this point I intend to create more Mercs as well as write the weekly update for the game.

Automatic cycling of rewards every so often would be a handy option but is something for Hoofmaster to decide upon.

Thanks Bigrim, I am sure that at least 80% of the FS players are now set at ease and really looking forward to a new change!

Can you please comment on why the arena receives special treatment. It is clear, contrary to what people want to or say they believe, the arena is only for very rich players. Saying otherwise is a lie. You will never convince me that a player has a decent chance at entering a random tournament around their level and winning.

Anyways what irritates me the most is the fact the arena gets things like LE and SE items. Mostly SE items. Yes I am an SE hunter. However, if you want to make arena only sets/items that is fine with me, then keep SE/LE items separate from the arena where they belong. If you want to mix and match that is fine, then when is the SE's that drop Gurgriss and Maximus items coming?

GraceGone if you need my help, I can set you up to win any level arena without alot of FSP, if you want to prove me wrong then take up my offer!

Interesting proposition... I would do this under 2 conditions...

1. At least one set included must be capable of winning of tournaments with hellforging allowed

2. We agree on a maximum amount of fsp that can be spent on a set.

As far as i can see , the arena gets no more special treatment than the SE - hunters or adventurers get, SE hunters wanted new SE's to hunt, this was catered for with vexus , and the hag. New and improved quests were add to cater for the adventurers, all were asking for is an improved prize list, and thx to BigGrim this will be catered for in the new year with some new additions, looking forward to seeing what they are

The Hag was created for high level players to have something to do... I guess I miss worded my original point. I find it highly unfair you can get SE items from the arena however I can't get gurgriss or maximus items from SE's

This is true, maybe it has become time for the gurgriss and maximus items to become creature drops? or at least part of an LE

i think they should put armors for EVERY lvl in there and instead of every player having the same pvp arena screen i think they should divide it into different lvls like the first one could be lvls 1-5 then6-10 then 11-15 etc.
because if anyone noticed a lvl 400+ wins all the pvp battles with lvl 5 forged/crafted armor and i think thtz not rite because most people who join them either need the gold/fsp/gear and they actually lose more money

Wrong are, please see the section for suggestions on the arena, this is a poll for the prizes only

3 , all SE items too! destroyer could be a bit too much though lol.

No.
How about if every time someone killed a SE they also got an Arena win?

Keep SE hunting and the Arena separate.

this is a great idea, and the cows said they are working on this.... i understand that there is a delicate balance of items in the game, but here are a few thoughts of mine:

bring back cheap potions! cheap potions are how i learned to play in the arena. i remember a sludge brew was the first non-move win that i had! these are vital to the future of the arena because they are cheap (so more people can enter them) and they fill fast (so you can remember what gear you were wearing easier) Cheap bound potion tourneys make the arena a better place for players of all levels to explore. Paying a 500 gold entry fee is a much better way to learn about how the arena works than an experimental set with a 93k fee for an ursa ring.

as far as gurgriss and maximus stuff go: why not have an LE with these creatures... or better yet, make them an elite that randomly spawns in a realm... why not give everyone the chance to find them?

there are certain items that are VERY valuable to use in the pvp arena, especially at the lower levels... why not have these items go into heavy rotation so that their prices come down and allow more players access to them? OR, make some new items that render other items obsolete (like a new level 25 ring to replace reborn guardian, instead of just throwing more reborn guardian rings into the economy)

--------------

i think the important thing would be to have more cheap bound potion tourneys... these are what helped me figure out the arena, NEVER could have done it without them

I agree with WhatYouSay (Btw good job on the 80 lvl run)... It would totally destroy SE item prices and it would suck for SE hunters.... I think we need to take the triclopse armor away from the arena... Its worth like 2-3 FSP right now... and it sucks too lol.

Edit: Oh ya and good idea spiral :D :D I failed every arena lol... but I still think its a good idea :D Will bring prices of some things up.... The only argument I have against it is that the FS staff are very busy... But it shouldn't take that long to fix it... Just add a few things and set time limits... Great idea :D

i agree..but what really needs to be done is the gold prizes taken out of the mix...how can you have a gold sink and then give gold as a prize? makes no sense whatsoever

when you add up all of the entry fees and then you deduct the prizes what do you get? where are all those millions and millions of gold a day going?

lot all the LE hunt items and all the SUPER ELITE sets be in there and the PvP arena sets .........we have just 2 set that you can just get in the pvp arena lots have more sets that you can just get in the PvP arena.........ok and not the same ones over and over .........lots have a PvP arena page for ( gold @ FSP ) and one for items and potions ......and one just for Arena skills so when we look at the PvP mane page it ask us if we like to go for gold fsp ........or items and potions..........or arena skills .................................................................and can we get more and new and better PvP arena skills like one if works the one you are fighting in the arena " where its stops his or her nex attack so you get 2 attack he gets 1 see some thing like that

I completely agree with the idea behind this suggestion.

The arena will work better as a gold sink, and be more fun for all (it will even attract more casual players) if the prizes have more relation to the entry fee.

For example... if you enter a cash tourney you can win 900k as a prize for a 35k entry fee. With 32 players that's a good gold sink and a very tasty prize for anyone worth the entry fee. It's a return of about 25 to 1 (with the statistical odds of winning at 32 to 1).

On the other hand in the prize finals the odds suck. You will pay 95k for a 16 to 1 chance of winning a tri sword or something similar that you can sell on a good day for maybe 5 fsps... that's a return of only 5 or 6 to 1 on your stake. Not as good a bet.

So, logically, the win value to stake ratio for the item prize finals should be brought more in line with the cash prizes. This cna be done by rotating the prizes, offering better prizes, offering more potions and so on.

So, in summary I agree the proposal and vote yes!

It makes perfect sense because the prize is always less than the total stake money. This difference is sunk gold that goes out the 'economy' of the game for good.
