If you guys don't even remember your recruiter's name, then they haven't helped you at all and/or you haven't bothered contacting them and they don't deserve the FSPs.
right?

how do you find out who unless they tell you or you miraculusly find them?
WTF?? When you sign up you may write your recruiter's ID in a numeric field somewhere, right? So you knew their ID unless for some odd reason you're writing a random ID there. Then you can add him/her to your ally/enemy list for quick reference, or write it down in your FS notepad

not true, think before you say something idiotic. lets say there's a banner, like there are on idk just about EVERY website, one click , and your on fs. probably being "recruited" so relax. I dont think question was that simple.

yeahwell, I'd personally never bother with recruiting, and I didn't get here by clicking a banner with someone's referral link, hence why I didn't think of that. Though if you sign up that way, wouldn't your recruiter's ID be shown in the registration process? Also, if I were to use a banner like that, would I get a log message when someone signs up for me?

The following URL would show up in your browser:
http://www.fallensword.com/?ref=123819
See the ?ref=123819 well I wonder what that number is? o.o
So now I save that number, when I start playing I look at some players profile pages, and notice something...
There is a number on each of those pages...
The url for the page is something of this form...
http://fallensword.c... ... layer_id=#####
Why don't I take that number I copied and paste it in this uri expression o.o
http://fallensword.c... ... _id=123819
Hey look it is the evil person who referred me's profile page. Now I just click on 'Add player as enemy' for having referred me to this game.
Now when I pass him, I can rub it in his face.
(If the person who referred me is a female, I could rub it in her face instead.)
I generally do like to scope out the player's page who referred me, but most of the time, I just copy the link, remove the referral part, navigate there, and then look for them with the referral string to see who tried to refer me. The exception usually results when a friend tries to refer me, in which case, I'd leave it in the uri expression.

Normally this is true for any game... HOWEVER...
I clicked a google link, and there was no referral link... when you sign up from just www.fallensword.com you are apparently assigned to a random player...

most of the "banners" that are not individual recruitment banners, the ones that are actual HCS recruitment advertisements, have the recruit ID of ref=FS which is a generic, non player recruit ID.
