they probably are looking for more money. but more stamina also means that a person is serious about the game and more likely to play.

More money has nothing to do with it.

If you only have the default 500 max stamina and +50 gain per hour, that means you have to hunt every 9 hours (50*9=450 and you usually have 19 stam leftover at the end of each hunt so that's 470 stamina; 50 more would overflow). All decent guilds are going to have the structures that give you +15 more stamina gain per hour. So with only 500 max stamina, that's 7 hours of stamina gain until you overflow (65*7=455; plus 19 leftover is 474; 65 more would overflow).

What does this mean? Your stamina will overflow while you sleep, go to work, go to school, or do anything else that keeps you away from the computer for more than 7 hours. Stamina waste is XP waste.

The other thing is buff efficiency. If you have to hunt every 7 hours, you're going to be asking for more buffs. You'll use your 500 stamina and still have an hour or two (depending on the buff and presence of Sustain and Extend) left on your buffs, but you won't be able to use them because you'll be out of stamina. Then you'll ask for more buffs later (or use your own stamina), which wastes even more stamina. If you have more max stamina, and let it build up before you hunt, you get better usage out of your buffs.

In conclusion, it's all about efficiency.

Very well said. I've been discovering as I un-newbie myself that this game is entirely about efficiency. Since I'm currently immobile, I log on often when I have less than full stam. I use those moments to position myself for my big hunt. Peruse the Guide, choose the quests I want to pursue and the items that go with it, then make sure I'm in optimal position for the hunt so I don't waste the buffs. I also make sure I tell guildies not to buff me when I sign on with low stam, as it's just a waste of their stamina, which is unfair to them.
