further flood the market let me tell you theres way more players than there are sets they get rid of guild tagging it would bring the market back fast.. no one is buying cause most guilds have guild sets take this away then guess what everyone needs to get there own sets again thus brinking the prices up in the ah.. now as far as undoing the mess hcs made i have no idea how this would be done

way more players than sets? Can you show me this? I think not. There are many inactives. Yeah, if they started to implement this many smaller guilds would just fold under and then sell their gear, therefore more gear would be on the market and the market would just get more cluttered, the small guilds would break apart and many players would just go to the bigger guilds that could still afford the tagging, they wouldnt need to buy a set therefore yeah the market would get even more flooded. I stand by this, I would vote no on the hourly tax of gear storage just because of this. Plus I bought the storage with no restrictions, now you all want to place one on it (aka tax me per hour to use something I done bought?) I dont think so. I pay to buy the storage spot, I pay to tag it, I paid to allow me to tag it, I paid to allow me to recall it whenever I need it. I think I have paid enough. Find a gold sink that people actually want, this is nothing more than a tax.

OFF TOPIC

I do agree with you, to a point. There are 2 ways to bring back the 200fsp per item market that some so urgently want to see again.

1. Do away with guild tagging. (I really dont ever see this happening)

2. Do away with FI 800 and FI1000. (I dont see HCS removing these either).

I guess we will just have to deal with it.

oh no pleeeeeease nooo this would disrupt sooo many guilds!!

this is actually a great idea because of that. i personally know of a few guilds that have over 5000 tagged items. this would add a huge gold sink to the game since in order for them to keep those items the players would have to donate more to the guild bank.

good idea, but at the same time errr not so good, i think it should have to do with how many items you have, along with how many members you have, because lets say someone has 500 guild tagged items, but only 50 members, thats a lot of items sitting around ( im not saying do items in use ) but basically the way the mercs are set up, cheaper for guilds with smaller people/ tagged items

Maybe, but probably shouldn't be so high a cost. This would be a good gold sink, but we don't want it to "destroy" guilds.

Did you know that there are likely over 2000 rouge black holes in our galaxy alone. Each of them can reach very high speeds, even in space terms, are each capable of destroying anything in their path, and are invisible. Well, goodnight!

I think it would be easier to limit amount of items you can tag and if you
want to tag more items buy the upgrade again.

I would say this, If they introduce a tax on each item, then I want free upkeep for my guild resistrar. It is double taxation unless done so, sorry I hate taxes, taxes are something I hate to pay. Again, Quit proposing taxes and propose a fun way to sink gold. Gold sinks should be something that scream to people, HEY spend your gold here! That is a real gold sink, taxing somthing is NOT.

Maybe have the upkeep of the Guild Registrar based on number of guild tagged items; sort of how the upkeep Fury Shrine is based off of the number of players.

this is an improvement on the good idea of the OP. the reason i say this is because for small guilds who are trying to attract newer players, this could be much more affordable; a guild with less than 20 pieces of tagged gear could have a really tiny upkeep

thats what i said here:

just did a little rethink on this and at the current proposal of 1g/item level/hour would probably be bank breaking even for smaller guilds with not a lot of tagged gear and would need a large script written to continually re-calculate the cost every hour which might cause some lag which none of us want.

How about a simpler 5 gold per item an hour. it would still have the effects proposed by the OP but would be much easier to write.

and the OP agreed here:

Yes, i may have been a bit overzealous with the 1gold/level/hour.. Calculating the cost for the 900 or so guild items of ours is scary, lol.

I also like the idea of a set amount per item, like the 5 gold mentioned, it would still make a great gold sink and a cause for guilds to hold on to less LE gear..

:D

The amendment that I purposed to the OP idea [1g/item level/hour] (and the author's revised original idea in OP [5 gold per item an hour]) was that the cost per item was to replace the upkeep to the Guild Registrar (2205 per hour for level 3) and not be added on as a separate "upkeep".

This in turn would help smaller guilds for they have fewer tagged items [in general compared to larger guilds] and thus would have a lower upkeep (the smaller guilds) to larger guilds.

THis would also help drive player away from smaller guilds and to the bigger guilds. This idea would also help out guild thieves steal more untagged gear from guilds who cannot afford to tag their gear due to the tax, this would create more headaches and issues for HCS.

considering the amount of TAX, this is not at all overpowering i guess....1 gold/item level/hour was ridiculous, even i was against it...but it was only an example, the 5 gold seems quite next to nothing, it will be an effective gold sink IMO and also force people to depo and plan more....

also, some guildmates who recklessly and stupidly tag useless items will be discouraged/kicked out(which is exactly what i want lol)

EDIT: i meant 5 gold/item/hour

I say no

Like DOA4LIFE already mentioned

1) guilds will start to sell off items they hardly use
=> flooding the market, since not every player will buy every item he might need.

2) forcing people to buy every item they need will mean that the game will evolve to a game where only the donators of real money rule the game (even more then now) => example for people my range then, what do we use regularly => ff trillsarin set, ff lvl 540 lishka set, ff bride set, ff sphynx helm, ff dazmorr amulet, ff crushing fist gauntlets, ff ...
=> see my point, the people who can afford that will level faster, make less hits and earn more, will be able to control almost every aspect of the game.

3) We allready paid loads of money to be able to tag, to be able to recall items, guildstore slots. Like DOA4LIFE mentioned again, if HCS would introduce this idea, they will be cutting in their own wages. Cause a guild requires less guildstoreslots then.

4) Small guilds will have a really hard time to survive or keep their members

5) It also actually encourages people to clutter up in a guild with the same level range. If you have a lvl range from 150 to ..., it means that you also have gear from that lvl. So the guilds gear range starts from that lvl.

So probably for 90% of a guild the guildtagged items for those levels aren't used by that percentage. Meaning it'll be more profitable for guilds to get as many members in one level range and skip out on lower levels
