Gift Store

The idea is that you would purchase a gift-wrapped present for gold. You couldn't see in it and it is not bound. Once opened the gift inside would be bound. I'll toss out several different potential groupings:
500 gold buys you a red box, inside is one of the following:
AL125
FI75
Lib100
(you get the idea)
5,000 gold buys you a blue box, inside is one of the following:
BZ200
SA150
AM150
FI250
(you get the idea)
50,000 gold buys you a white box, inside is one of the following:
CO250
DC200
DB450
(you get the idea)
500,000 gold buys you a silver box, inside is one of the following
FI1000
BZ300
WI350
EW1000
(you get the idea)
1,000,000 gold buys you a gold box, inside is one of the following:
WI350
EW1500
(maybe something new?)
Before anyone attacks the actual values I haven't done much research for exact prices. The goal would be to have the expected value of the gift less than the cost. 1 (maybe 2) of the gifts would be a "profit" item and the rest you would overpay for. The whole idea is to have the potions in the gifts cost more than the AH special section but to allow them to be tradeable UP UNTIL YOU OPEN THEM. At that point they become bound again.
Obviously a gold sink and provides something to do. Little (or big) thank you's much easier to give and maybe fun while helping us spend our gold.

Did you know that there are likely over 2000 rouge black holes in our galaxy alone. Each of them can reach very high speeds, even in space terms, are each capable of destroying anything in their path, and are invisible. Well, goodnight!

A while back I suggested a store to buy Christmas presents from. I'm now going to suggest it just be a present store period. It could be in the Cathedral or "Everywhere".

My idea for boxes is:
A red box costs 2500 gold and will reveal one of the following:
AL (60)
Wither (25)
Rage (40)
DD (50)
HF (15)
A cyan box costs 10,000 gold and will reveal one of the following:
AL (125)
Wither (40)
Fury (75)
DC (50)
HF (60)
An orange box costs 25,000 gold and will reveal one of the following:
AL (200)
Wither (60)
Berserk (100)
Lightfoot (5)
HF (100)
EW (500)
Fury (80)
Rage (105)
A silver box costs 400,000 gold and will reveal one of the following:
AL (350)
Wither (175)
Conserve (100)
Assist (300)
SSI (400)
Lightfoot (20)
NV (250)
A olive box costs 1,200,000 gold and will reveal one of these buffs:
AL (500)
SSI (700)
NV (500)
Assist (450)
Wither (450)
Also, these boxes will not be tradable, and will not reveal potions, but the box will give you one of the buffs at random. And when you destroy them, they may do something weird...

however, the prices:
red box: 100
blue box: 5,000
white box: 40,000
silver box: 100,000
gold box: 500,000
Right? :?

And @lykeaf the entire point is that the boxes (with the unknown contents) are tradeable. If not, it's just ... random special AH. Different idea.

Great Gold sink.
Albeit, it does sound a bit like scavenging. Maybe this instead of scavenging.

I can see exactly how this will work. Cutiepies with grainy 'myspace' pic style avatars are going to be posting in FSBox: 'Like what you see? Buy me a presnt babeee xoxox'.
Oh, ok, yeah it's a good idea
I don't need teh FSBox or MySpace, I know SOMEBODY would by me one

Only like OP said, there need to be a little thought
about the prices of each gift...Putting with350 and
EW1500 in the same box, is not really of equal
value, but it would make it a lot more fun

seems like just a different approach to scavenging but that's cool I guess. I do think the values you suggest are a bit high - especially at the top end - but I am sure the cows would get that right on the 3rd or 4th attempt

How the heck are you supposed to give them as gifts genius? Also, these boxes will not be tradable
The OP's idea was right on the money, tradable until they are opened then they become bound, would be fun to add to the game.
