ummmm..

yeah and lets do a destroyer set for 1 mill

please, think before you speak. That would be dumb. 1,000,000 gold = EIGHT or so Fallen Sword Points (FSP)... hmm
each piece of that set goes for around what? -- 250FSP ish?... yeah...

i love the idea but forget set prizes for set costs make it totally random at a fixed price and make the prize free to sell this will make it more exiting but the cost of a box a fixed price of 1 FsP

great.. and then you screwed the pooch again by raising the value of FSP even more. It's about GOLD SINKS. -- not doubling the value of FSP...

The lottery component of this is really just to make it fun - not to make it a lottery. Yes it sinks gold, but it's something people could like doing (I think). It wouldn't take much to expand on this. Include items in boxes etc. But, I tried to stay away from anything that could lead to merchanting after the fact so stuck with the bound potions as suggested here. Making them sell for fsp really would defeat the purpose. First, it wouldn't allow an average level 5 to thank someone for something with a gift. Second, it wouldn't sink gold but purple balls. We don't need to sink those.

it is a good idea to make them bound after opening it, there
is no point in reselling those boxes, because you don't know
what is in it. And I don't see anyone selling them with a loss...

A while back I suggested a store to buy Christmas presents from. I'm now going to suggest it just be a present store period. It could be in the Cathedral or "Everywhere".

The idea is that you would purchase a gift-wrapped present for gold. You couldn't see in it and it is not bound. Once opened the gift inside would be bound. I'll toss out several different potential groupings:

500 gold buys you a red box, inside is one of the following:
AL125
FI75
Lib100
(you get the idea)

5,000 gold buys you a blue box, inside is one of the following:
BZ200
SA150
AM150
FI250
(you get the idea)

50,000 gold buys you a white box, inside is one of the following:
CO250
DC200
DB450
(you get the idea)

500,000 gold buys you a silver box, inside is one of the following
FI1000
BZ300
WI350
EW1000
(you get the idea)

1,000,000 gold buys you a gold box, inside is one of the following:
WI350
EW1500
(maybe something new?)

Before anyone attacks the actual values I haven't done much research for exact prices. The goal would be to have the expected value of the gift less than the cost. 1 (maybe 2) of the gifts would be a "profit" item and the rest you would overpay for. The whole idea is to have the potions in the gifts cost more than the AH special section but to allow them to be tradeable UP UNTIL YOU OPEN THEM. At that point they become bound again.

Obviously a gold sink and provides something to do. Little (or big) thank you's much easier to give and maybe fun while helping us spend our gold.

how about a chance at an empty box. and a buff to lower percent of that happening. Just a thought.
