PvP Emblems

The basis of this idea, is to add a bit more fun to PvP for the -average- player, and not just the hardcore PvPer.




First of all, a new slot would be added to the profile screen, which would hold a new item type, PvP Emblem. The PvP emblem resembles a Relic in nature. It is held, and defended. There is a 1 hour limit between capture and the first attempt. The defender gains 25% stat bonus, in PvP only.


The differences:


You would have 2 choices for attacks in the attack player screen, attack for PvP emblem, or standard PvP attack. A PvP emblem attack costs 50 stamina.


PvP Emblem attacks take no XP or Gold, but PvP is still lost/gained.


To add interest to levelers, small stamina gain/xpgain/max stamina bonuses could be applied to certain Emblems.


PvP emblem attacks are NOT bountyable. By capturing one you assume the risk and become a target.


There would be medals for both Time Held (12 hours 24 hours a week etc..) and Successful Captures.

There would be a fixed amount of PvP emblems at equal distances across the levels (i.e 5 every 10, 50, or 100 levels)

great idea, i deffinatly would PvP more if there was something like this in the game.

Like PvP based capture the flag? Awesome idea, if it picked up enough support it could become a REALLY good part of the game, people might actually LIKE PvP if it were for fun like that!

someone came out with this type of suggestion earlier this month or sometime last month. i love it. the other suggestion was have 'shards' of the 'fallen sword' spread throughout the land and the only way to gain it was to attack the player who held it. i think the idea of a 'PvP emblem' is a better fit for this type of thing.

i think the emblems should all come with exp gain/stamina gain/max stamina bonus. other bonuses should include high amount of HP and maybe some enhancement bonuses like first strike, thievery, and master thief.

3-5 emblems per 10 levels would be nice. im guessing stat bonuses would vary according to level of pvp emblem.

*thumbs up* this would be a good way to promote 'friendly' pvp within the levels. plus it would help players figure out good defenses and learn how stats/buffs work

I like this idea as well. I'd go for it, especially if there were two types of emblems, one kind that boosts a stat (or two) that people can go after for their leveling binge (or their reg pvp binges for that matter), and then a second type that boosts gain(s) for in-between the binges.

One slot per player would encourage players to alternate between the types depending on what activity they are engaged in at the moment.

Hmmmmm adding a personal gold upkeep would also make this a gold sink :twisted:

yea there needs to be alot of incentive for the pvp emblems to change hands often.

I love the idea, adds fun to PvP, creates a form of on-bounty-able attacks, and gives me something burn stam on while bored XD

This would have to be changed. I think there should be a proportional amount of emblems. For example, there are 100 players between lvl 450-460, so there would be 10 emblems. Ten percent seems to be a good ratio to have it, not too little but not too much.

Not a bad idea, I'm not too fussy about the 50 stam cost, I'ds say keep the stam as is, perhaps even using 100 stam might increase your chances of capturing the emblem. Say a 0.1% increase per every 10 stam spent or something. I still love good old fashioned gold stealing, XP draining, bountiable PvP, but this might be a good way to help convert the the PvP fearing masses.

True, but they should be bound to those levels only to prevent high level players from monopolizing the emblems.

you got a point. 10 emblems would be better. number of emblems not based on % though

I'd keep it 3-5 per level range, they need to be valuable and competitive to hold.
If there was over 50 for one range it'd kinda ruin the idea of it since anyone could grab one.

the entire point of this is to revitalize PvP without bounties, bounty hits would not lose the emblem, they would have a max lvl and min lvl of +/-5 of the level where they are located. (once you level out of range while wearing one, there could be a special board like scavenging where "lost" emblems are found..

^^ completely agreed. You have to keep in mind spartan, that as the game progresses forward, there will eventually be more people in the lvl 450-460 range etc, so I still think it should be a flat # per level.

hmm maybe those wearing the PvP emblem gain x2/x3 PvP rating from attacks. how about they cant be bountied while wearing the PvP emblem, yet they only steal PvP rating, no gold/exp loss.

^^ completely agreed. You have to keep in mind spartan, that as the game progresses forward, there will eventually be more people in the lvl 450-460 range etc, so I still think it should be a flat # per level.


True, but since only a few give gains, those would be sought after more, i was thinking that the others would give small def/dmg bonuses that could be used in pvp, maybe some have minor enhancements like in inventor to allow low levels to get 100% master inventor
