Or at least I hope nobody suggested something similar. :)

There are not many guilds that do GvG and with reason, most prolly think it is silly. If we look at the guild ranks it seems pretty static and is only affected by levelling and joins/leaves of players.
For GvG to become interesting there has to be a reward aswell as there has to be something to loose.

What my idea is, is that every guild gets the option (at a certain guild level) to pick a location anywhere in the FS world (but cannot be higher as your lowest levelled member) to place their guild stronghold.
This guild stronghold can be attacked/defended like a relic, with 1 big advantage for the defenders. They have a teleport option at the cost of 25 stamina. Attackers should "walk" for normal stamina costs to the guild stronghold they wish to attack.
(the current upgrade for participants can be used to decide how many members can defend/attack)

What are the gains and losses?
Guild XP and Money on the Bank.

This will mean more changes on the guild ranking page and will make GvG more attractive.

But now the most important thing. With the risk of loosing Guild XP and Guild bank money not many guilds will want to expose theirselves. So there has to be somesort of reward for exposing your guild.
The answer to that lies into a bonus for having the structure which should consist of something (or a selection of) like:

+ 5 stamina gain
+ 300 Max stam
+ 100 elite hunter
+ 50% Master Inventor
- 25% Guild upkeep
etc.

To be more clear, not saying these exact bonusses should be applied, not saying that it have to be all of those, they are merely examples that might encourage guilds to do this.

Summary:
This will liven up GvG, it will allow more fluctuation on the Guild Rank page, and it will give a meaning to Guild Wars, Alliances, NAPs and similar things. It will create more depth in the game and make diplomacy more important, thus also more interacting between players.

Ok flame ahead. :D
