say you have a 50k entrance fee, you just sank 800k gold from the game.
now you can argue thatyour driving the price of some items down, but from the gold sink perspective, items with high entree fees are much better gold sinks then gold tournaments, which dump approx 70%(?) of that gold back into the game.
and please please please make potion entree fees have some sort of correlation to the price of the actual potion
a potion that sells for 40k should not have a 31k entree fee when one that sells for 500k ( granted ,its bound, but that is still the potions value ) has a 150 gold entree fee
its losing a golden opportunity to make those solid gold sinks

1. more motivation to think about setups before joining the tournaments
2. forging high level items for arena -> huge gold sink
3. confident and serious arena rivals
let it be Masters Series Tournaments

1000000 Gold? Isn't that a bit exaggerated.
I wouldn't mind 10,000,000 gold too, that entry fee would help some old arena players with motivation, so they could find energy for designing some new competitive setups again...

I want people to think about their setups before joining the tournaments, which is going to happen if entry fee is 10,000,000

10.000.000 Gold entry fee, that's crazy; able to join 1 Arena with 100 FSP  I think, it is going to slow down arena even more that way.
2-3 tournaments like this per day

has been suggested before to have the arena in division( you win 100 tourneys and you get promoted to "champion division"). This way people compete with more or less equally experienced others and do not stop competing when they get squashed for 20th by venomsheru and other grand champs. more players in arena=more gold sunk
Problem with that is where do you draw the line. What would be consider a grand champion? does 1500 wins = 500 wins? And also people quit the all the time where are you going to find more 500+ win players? I think there are like 24 player w/ over 500 wins and about half of them quit already.

Also, adding common items with cheap entry prices would allow us to experiment with set ups as well.

May 18, 2009 there have been no new arenas for an hour and a half. This is something that does need looked at. I have always thought gold and potions in one room and moves and items in the other. By combining the items with the moves, there is at least some impediment to the flow of items in the game keeping them valuable to some degree.
Also, adding common items with cheap entry prices would allow us to experiment with set ups as well.
Simple solution is to get your guildmates to join the arena. Lots of people dont have wins and would like to get the medal. If you know how to play share the knowledge. The arena will move faster then. Although I do support the notion of the split (for gold sink purpose), it is not needed if you guys get your guildmates into the act..
BTW I think we should have a test arena that does not count to win total, and have an entry fee of 1000( or more?) with no reward, so that people can test their set ups.

I cant believe titan idea that came a month ago beat out various arena suggestions, that are viable in sinking gold, that was developed months b4... Also PVP suggestions and just about any other suggestion...What was the point of the Titan? Its not like its a gold sink or is the Titan just a way for HCS to make money..
It's a pleasure to code new ideas instead of fixing old things, besides as with all coders likely there is no any documentation, which makes it harder to change things after a long break or hire other coder for that job...

The split will be Prizes and Moves. If the Admin inferface tweak for the arena works out correctly, I can balance the items vs Gold prizes myself.
Cheap Potion tourneys (at all different levels) along with gold (all amounts at different levels as well) and then you will see more movement in the tournaments.
I intend to add these too. Cheap and cheerful to allow people to tweak their sets.
Apart from adding the current bound potions into the pool of prizes, can you add in new "bounded" potions such as AL 200 and SSI 100?
This will help to increase the gold sinks as well as push the speed of the arena joinings - Note- New "bounded" potions should be available in the arena only
