Individual Player/Non-Guild Titans

This way there would be more winners, 1-2 single players couldn't be on for every spawn so it would mix it up. Also, the competition would be more intense since it'd be every man for himself. And, if did come down to a 1-1 showdown, that showdown would indeed be epic.
The idea is fairly simple, same as the current system just without guilds.
This still would serve as an equally effective stam sink since an equal if not greater number of players would take part. For HP, it could be the same as the current Titan Spawns, perhaps less.
Finally, to clarify, this idea is not mutually exclusive to the ideas of Runner Up Rewards nor RETSNOM's Guild Structure Upgrade suggestion.
Just tossing it out there, what'd ya think?

In response to the claims of Evo/FFS controlling the titans, I suggest *additional* Titan Spawns which the single player with the most kills would win. This is not a concrete description, just a brief outline for further development.
I think i'd prefer the same titan, NOT more of them - and then the person with the most solo kills WHO WASN'T IN THE GUILD THAT WINS also gets a drop - maybe a lesser drop, but still something to acknowledge he killed the most of them as a solo player.

Having competed on guild titan hunts against you, I know I wouldn't bother leaving my relic for this if you were online. You're an insane hunter, lol

XD
Though I might be able to win one, there are several other hunters out there from non-evo/ffs guilds who would be just as competitive. I think we'd all be surprised at the number of fast hunters who hold back since they're in a small guild.

I didn't think it would attract many flames, seeing as it proposes something different to those who dislike the current system.
But now that you mention it, let the flames begin!!!

I guess if you call out the flamers before the flaming begins no one flames lol

while the idea of a solo-contest is good primarily to suppress all the commotion, you can't be serious for the prize to be the same epic items. to put things in perspective -- what would be the point of an entire guild working their asses off for something when just one single player can get the same thing. a tad illogical when you look at it that way

There should be a change somehow to the way the guild Titans are first, BigGrim and company dont see this should be done, (IM unsure as to why they ignore the fact that Titans is broken despite them functioning just as they are supposed too). Of coarse, letting the Broken Titans keep coming has done just what BG has said HCS wont do. In letting the Titans go on broken they gave a select few guilds the "win" button. My stance on this wont change, just like HCS is stubborn in saying there idea is correct and wont change. Myself, I will just wait til the Titan drops are worth 500fsp each and then maybe think about buying them. HCS is smart though, current Titan system has probably promoted a lot of donations so that the NoN winners can raise enough fsp to actually buy one of these drops from the respective winners.

Aren't titans supposed to be a team thing? Seems like this would get rid of the teamwork aspect that the titans were supposed to have...
Yes, but only about 5 teams have been going for it. There'd be more competition with an individual Titan.
As for the prizes, they could be completely different really, maybe gold/reserve stam/or a lesser epic item. Just something good enough to spur competition.

Yeah, you don't want teammates getting in eachothers way, etc.
Did you know that there are likely over 2000 rouge black holes in our galaxy alone. Each of them can reach very high speeds, even in space terms, are each capable of destroying anything in their path, and are invisible. Well, goodnight!

There are reasons only about 5 guilds go after Titans. Most cannot and will never have a shot at it until a certain few guilds get bored with them. Despite what the developers think, us players are smart, most of us players realize that chasing a Titan is false hope. Of coarse there are some though that excel in this, they do this because of the way the Titan is designed, everyone else has figured out that they wont excel and will just waste stamina, therefore they sit at home until the dominators get tired of Titans, or HCS decided that a lot of players are correct in asking for a tweak with the way the Titans are done.Aren't titans supposed to be a team thing? Just because it isn't working out the way it was meant to doesn't mean that we should ruin the thing even further
I honestly think that all that needs to be done in order to get more guilds to try for the titan is prizes for 2-5th place. If you look at the most recent titan kill, the guild that came in fourth has only 3 people in it. Granted, those three could probably kill more titans than the average player, but the point remains that it is very possible for a small guild to get 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th place. If guilds would get prizes for doing so, chances are, more guilds would compete. I know BG said that this is going to happen sometime (I think). I don't really think that anything else is needed to make the titans more popular.

Yep i like the idea of prizes to the other non 1st place guild. But i don't like the idea of Titans for individuals. Because for the same reason as DOA i don't think Titans should be won because of how fast your internet is.

No, there is not any great reason why other guilds shouldn't go after it.
Evo is a relatively small guild, we have won titans with only 5 players participating, given 3 of those 5 had fast connections. You cannot tell me that there isn't another guild out there with 3 fast connections, there are several out there with more than that. Several guilds can win, they just need to try (note: this is all second to teamwork, coordination, intensity and some luck).
I really don't care about the individual titan idea, I was never advocating it hardcore, just tossing it out there.
As for Runner-Up rewards, I completely agree, they would be cool.

you need multiple players with a fast connection, but those players
also need to be able to stay around for some hours. and I think
time is also a big problem. People who come online after 30 min or
1 hour, won't participate anymore.
I guess only solution is making prices for 2-5, so some guilds will
try to get at those positions. Mostly a single player can reach teh
5th spot.

People in Evo do, I'm sure frackers do as well.and I think

I would have gotten 3rd in the 15:12 22/Jun/2009 Ogalith with a solid 500 kills.Mostly a single player can reach teh
5th spot.
