The prices for the following amounts of $ are as follows:
$80 would yield 575 FSP.
$100 would yield 775 FSP.
$120 would yield 1000 FSP.
$140 would yield 1275 FSP.
$160 would yield 1575 FSP.
$180 would yield 1925 FSP.
$200 would yield 2325 FSP.
$220 would yield 2790 FSP.
$240 would yield 3325 FSP.
although this could be altered to suit HCS
plus if they did this with SS2 as well their profits would go through the roof and quiet frankly i cant see a downside to this i mean you buy FSP to buy things in the game and to power level meaning along the way your gonna need more and i know that there are alot of people in Fallen Sword and SS2 they buy FSP and flux crystals so post and let me know your thoughts thank you for your time

That said: There is a profit loss for HCS on this type of situation. Just taking his price example, though economically, this is attributable to any wholesale cost reduction scenario:
$240 = 3325 FSP.
At current max, to spend $240 a player would have to purchase 4 times. This would equal 2400 FSP. That is a 925 FSP bonus (in smurf's example). The price difference is $138.75, for the same amount of FSP: 925 FSP/400 (curent max) x $60.
When HCS launches special offers, this cost would be exacerbated.
What I think you're really getting at is:
Making it easier to buy large loads of FSP in one fell swoop.
If that's the case, and it makes sense to me, I'd suggest the following:
A multiplier payment option on the buy FSP screen:
Something like:
400 FSP for $60.
Purchase of 800 FSP for $120.
Purchase of 1600 FSP for $240.
I'd have to think a bit about the wording set up (think I'll leave that to HCS ,oP), but essentially, all special offers at the 400 FSP level for $60 would have a maximum bonus during the offers of whatever the $60 dollar level has. For example, if the special offer is a 20% bonus, the bonus would be capped at 80 FSP. That's not revolutionary, it's just exactly what it is right now.
I think it's a good idea smurf. (o0

çi just saw the other thread, darkarchon claims to have figured out the formula, those numbers aren't smurflord's.
I get the idea... but back to the first part of my post:
There is a certain economic benefit to HCS to make higher payment options pay out a "bonus". Just as there is with the special offers.
The real issue in this thread... (least I'm guessing) is convenience. The way the thread is laid out, it would not be beneficial to HCS and would impose a cost.
I think it would be more "productive" for hardcore FSP buyers to suggest a method of convenience that doesn't detract from HCS income.
Let's face it... the hardcore FSP buyers are willing to make those inconvenient payments. Restructuring the suggestion benefits both sides. The buyers will spend the same amount but more conveniently and HCS would make those players happy by facilitating their purchases. If it's done this way, it's a win-win situation.
However, if bonuses are multiplied ad-infinitum, HCS only stands to lose. I firmly believe they try to make the player experience better... but there has to be limits.
My suggestion is to get the convenience with no cost to either side. That, I think would be productive. I really don't think that those players pushing for this would think differently.

i like this idea... more options for those that want to blow thier christmas fund on HCS... and besides i'm already getting charged an International fee from my bank... would be easier to have one fee for 1000FSPs than 3 Fees... B-)

sure, mathematically HCS may lose more if the original forumula or a variation of it was used; however, they may stand to profit more since more players may donate larger chunks of change, get thirsty and donate more.

What I suggest then is to add a layer of verification on amounts of $60. I'm not sure what that level would be - it could be in the form of a 24 hour hold on the account for amounts $60 - $100, or $48 hours for amounts over $100... inconvenient to the players, yes but as a credit card holder, the extra security could be well worth the savings to me - besides, that would be 48 hours and do something besides FS - a forced break isn't so bad.
I'm sure there are other better ideas about it but I agree that some other/higher authentications is appropriate - not in the form of faxed ID's or bills - too easy to replicate. Would need to be done hand in hand w/ CC companies, I imagine but I'm not familiar in these areas.
Thoughts?

60 bucks yields 400 = 6.7 points per dollar.
$80 would yield 575 FSP. = 7.2 points per dollar (rounded)
= 13.8 points per dollar (rounded)
Essentially your plan would increase the supply of FSPs by making them cheaper. 3325 points right now costs almost 500 dollars... your plan would halve that. (in essence players would pay HCS 1/2 the money for theat amount of points.)
This would have the following effects.
1. people that buy points see their existing advantage from player upgrades increased.
2. rewards would have to be revalued. If buying is cheaper, then filling out the "special offers" should lead to greater rewards as the FSPs there are tied to payments HCS receives from advertisers.... Greater payments = greater rewards.... this plan would reduce the number of people doing the special offers and negatively effect HCSs revenue stream.
3. the increase in FSPs would have an inflationary effect within the Auction House.
I think HCs will not accept this idea.
I once asked to change the structure (leave the FSP price the same) but simply allow people to pick a number of FSPs (like they have done for the X-mas special)... that would allow somone to type in 1000 FSPs and pay 150 dollars, rahter than buying 400 for 60 then 400 for 60 then 200 for whatever that costs... They told me they would not....
good luck with this though.

Like Ecofrog said, the increments are harsh.. I dont care personally if im paying $60@400fsp or $600@4000fsp.. just so long as the amount to purchase is much greater then small amounts of $60 per..

Again, I think that's the focus of most players that buy large amounts of FSP. HELP HCS, HELP ,oP

Leave it to EF to give an even more thorough analysis of why a huge bonus on higher FSP purchases is detrimental to the game. I suggest everybody read his post.... still waiting for the day when I can think of something he hasn't, lol.

I guess that answers that. Really unfortunate. I wonder if that was for PR reasons. I can think of a couple.

Random responses to invidual posts:
but perhaps if your willing to spend 200+$ shouldn't you get 20% bonus regardless?
Get A bonus, yes, but it would have to be capped. When there is a special offer, it may be used only once. The current cap on the 20% bonus offer is 80 FSP (the 400 FSP purchase for $60).
To increase purchase convenience and keep all factors the same, special offers could have a max bonus at the $60 level. So yes, if you spend "$200+" you would get a bonus, but not to exceed the number of FSP given in the $60 offer.

To see some of the reasons why increasing bonuses on higher money amounts is not good for players either, see Ecofrog's post.
I recall saying BigGrim saying something about they wouldn't do more because of the chance of credit card fraud.
I "guess" everybody's bank is different. Personally when I buy FSP, I have to verify the purchase with a number code that is immediately sent to my cell phone.
And let's face it: if there is going to be credit card fraud, it can equally be done, multiple times, in the current environment.

Does anyone think it might be more effective to reword this suggestion for a different context and place it up for vote (in other words, no "extra" bonus, but purchase convenience for players)? I'm "assuming" levy would go for it and EF thinks it wouldn't go anywhere... though he'd like it to.
In that context, I would vote and I would contact the big FSP spenders I know.... My gut feeling says people who don't regularly buy FSPs would vote against and those that do would vote in favor.
I'm quite certain we could get HCS to take notice (the current 10 votes on this topic isn't going to do that).... but based on EF's post, I'm not certain we can get HCS to change their opinion....
Worthwhile? Not worthwhile? Thoughts?
