Hi there Everyone.

The updates for the Arena Admin Control we have mentioned was being worked on is complete. This allows a huge amount of flexablity for creating the new and improved Arena Games.

I can set number of players for the match, join cost, allowing Special Moves and Hellforging. I can now set the level of the fight so we can have some for higher levels too! I can specify the reward and reward type. And lastly, I can set the frequency of the fight spawning in the arena.

There are some nice possiblities I can think of with these new abilities.

So. I want to hear what you want. Once the New Sets are complete, they shall be put in across the board (so it's still the Spine at the moment.). However, do you want the prizes to dictate the Level of the Fight? Or do you want some high level prizes at low level joining brackets? Or both? Gimme your ideas and wants!

i'd prefer that the lvl of the tournaments is random for all the items and min 50 k entrance, so that not everyone just joins it with deflects

New sets can be expensive(to join) to start with. I don't see any issue with these items when they are first introduced being a lot more expensive than any existing tournaments. Gold sink anyone?

Even make them a 32 or 64 tourney..

IMO, let the prizes only be available to those who can use them (e.g level 244 item = level 244 tourney), and set the amount of items dropped depending on the active player spread. (e.g If the level 150-200 range has 2x the amount of active players then the level 500-550 range then have the 150-200 range items drop 2x as much).

Yes, when the items 1st come out, don't make them cheap to join, 50k, 64 players, 3 million gone

You could raise the cost, raise the amount of participants and etc :0

oh yeah, please make more tourneys over level 400. it would be nice to put some of this great pvp gear you have at high levels to good use. and crikey we might even start to forge some more of it up, think of the gold sink there given it's over 1,500,000 gold for the final forge for items I use now :P

I'd like to see all the prizes spread across all the levels, not restricted to the level you're at, as suggested by a previous poster. I'd like it if any particular prize could randomly appear at any level. With the current system, for example, all of the Xind Hearts appear in the very low level tourneys. As I do not have those setups, I have never had a chance to get one. I wouldn't mind seeing those types of items randomly spread across all the levels.

I am heavily in favor of higher level tourneys for the level 500, 600 and 700 level folks. Maybe that will bring some new life into the arena. Not to mention it'll be "cool" to win a level 600 arena with my little level 300 setup. hehe.

For some of the extremely popular items I think 32 person tourneys would be a good idea, with high entry fees, 50, 75 or even 100K. I think the 4 player max per guild per tourney restriction should also be changed for the expanded tournies. I'd like a little more flexibility in the "10 of each" type of tourney situation that is happening right now. Sure, there are a lot of available tourneys to enter at any one time, but there are times when the updates come very slowly and things stall, maybe have each section update individually with 15 or 20 available tourneys to enter at any one time.

Also, as an idea, rather than having a set update time, why not just continually rotate in new tourneys as others finish? Have a constant stream of newly arriving tourneys all the time. When one tourney ends, it opens up space for another one, etc. etc. No waiting. Thank you for working so hard on these Arena changes, and i look forward to having continued fun!

Addition: As it stands right now, EVERY item tourney uses moves. I think it would be okay for the occasional potion or item tourney to be available to the newcomers to the arena who haven't earned all of their moves yet. What you are going to see when these new sets come out is a select group of players doing a lot of the winning and shutting out the majority of the participants. Having a few of these items available in non move tourneys might generate interest and excitement among newcomers too and give them a reason to come back. The more people who get involved in the arena, the better it is to keep things moving and growing.

2nd Addition; Also, I would get rid of some of the truly useless potions that are now offered as prizes. Just this second I looked at the arena and there are 2 level 50 Keen Edge Arenas waiting to fill, a Potion of the Tinkerer, and a rockskin potion. These potions are useless to the vast majority of the FS community. Remove them from the arena and replace them with prizes that are more sought after so things don't stall while waiting for them to fill up! Thanks! I'd also like to see more high level potions along the lines of the FI1000 and EW1000 in the arena too, maybe the occasional FourLeaf 500, Bound of course, or an EW500, just something extra.

What does that mean exactly? That if it is a maximus trident, for example, it should be a 400 level arena? Or if it is a Fire Flail, it should be level 300? I just want to understand exactly what you mean before I answer. Thanks!!

spreading out the prizes across the lvl's is the best thing as every one who participate in arena don't have all those setup's from lvl 5-400.. so they will get a chance to have that prize at their desired lvl where they use to fight. :)

i'd still like to see smaller groups for the moves tournaments. and maybe when some of the new items come out, a few tournaments for the new items that a non-moves.

i've won a couple non-move tourneys, but until i get a power attack, it's useless to enter a moves tourney.

Ok, im gonna try to address this the best i can

With prizes.
The tournament level should not affect prizes at all.
Plenty of high level players flourish with low level sets. Why screw them out of a chance at the bigger prizes. It always irked me that the Xind Heart was only in low level tournaments, as i never had the set for it, and it should not work vice versa as well. All prizes should be available at all level ranges

For the timing.
I really like the 15 minute spawn time. I knew i can check at 00, 15,30,and 45 server times for new tournaments, and i didnt have to be constantly refreshing. I think most of the active arena players like knowing when the knew tournaments spawn, and it should be kept this way.

What i would LOVE to see implemented, though i don't know if possible, is a maximum time a tournament can be on the board.
If tournament X doesn't fill in ( say 2 hours ) the tournament starts anyway. If the number of players don't fit, then someone randomly gets a first round pass. Each tournament will have a timer next to it saying when the time frame to join is up.

A pipe dream perhaps, but still
:)

Next:
JOIN PRICES !!
Im sorry, but its obscene that a fire flail tourney is 10k to join, a potion of savagery is 31,250, and a fi1k is 1500 gold. Its time to bring the prices more into line with the rewards, which is a major overhaul, but im sure some of the more active arena players would have no problem giving you an idea of what they think is fair.

Items like yellow spine sits forever, because 43k for a 1 fsp prize is to much, while other fill up in seconds for the opposite reason.

you have the power to fix it, lets get going :)

I like the way things are set up now, with hellforging allowed or not, and moves allowed or not. I would like to see the big prizes still require you to use moves, as in all honesty, the people with the moves worked for them, wasted a lot of time and money getting them, and deserve to have an advantage on the bigger prizes

Ok, i think im done for now :)

It should be so the level reuired to join is the players level not the Armor level. All these high levels in huge guilds just join with maxed out sets and makes it unfair for lower levels that are unable to do so.
