The arena needs more lower level contests. Few players are entering the high level contests because there aren't many high level players.

Alternatively, a fix would be to allow any level player to wear any level gear for the purpose of the arena. For example a level 100 player could wear level 700 gear in the arena. That would make the arena fair for everyone.

I think this is a bad idea, why would you make something available to all, after so many players worked their asses off to get to where they are now. Keep the minimum level attatched. Just increase the # of tournies.

Why do so many oppose this? They want to play in the small guys lower level sandboxes yet they cringe at the thought of a low level wanting to play in there sandbox :?

Because they worked to get into the lower sandboxs and worked harder to get to the higher ones? Why shouldn't people in the lower levels have to work too?

Do you really think a low level arena fighter doesn't work to earn those wins? You think being low level means not doing anything at all?

I'm not too keen on the idea of low levels joining higher level arenas myself for another reason. Higher level gear would skyrocket in price; it would involve creating a few pre-cornered markets.

However, if you don't like the idea of fighting low levels in the arena, don't say it's because they aren't working hard enough for it. Any low level who gets past their combat moves is working plenty hard enough to earn it.

I think he was meaning the work involved in levelling, not the Arena

They should be kept random then all the players who already spent money to buy lower level set up dont find that they have lost the cash they spent as the items will be worthless

I have not read all the 18 previous pages, but the pages I did read never mentioned the change I would like to propose, so here goes:

I would like to suggest a "set runtime" for a tourney. A tourney is introduced at for instance 15:00ST. The set runtime is 45 minutes. This means at 15:45ST the tourney will start no matter how many players have entered.

If 10 people entered the tourney, the last two do not compete. A 8 player tourney starts.

If 20 people entered the tourney, the last 4 do not compete. A16 player tourney starts.

IF 35 people entered the tourney, the last 3 do not compete. A 32 player tourney starts.

Because the amount of players is not determined up front, the tournament fee can only be calculated afterwards.

This is where the extra players come in. If the player that entered first does not have enough gold on hand he is replaced by one of the people that do not compete.

I am not sure if this is possible, at the moment BG, and I don't know what the rest of the Arena players think.
