It should be so the level reuired to join is the players level not the Armor level. All these high levels in huge guilds just join with maxed out sets and makes it unfair for lower levels that are unable to do so.
ask riyat how he/she won the bronze arena medal at level 10 already.
More potions tourney but the entry fee must reflect the worth. Or up the level of the KE, Inventor, rock skin pots.

If a gold sink is what your after then why not make a tournament where you dont know what the prize is...Of course i would have to say make it a expensive and useful item...Or make it a piece to the Writhing Ward for example...Winner wouldnt know what the prize was until it was all done..
Ooh, yes, I like this idea!! I pay almost 100K to enter completely worthless item tourneys, so I'm sure this would be just great!!! +1!!

I agree, all those people who either busted their tails to be able ot afford good items, or who donate to this game to keep it going should get totally screwed out of any advantage so that you can have an easy time of things !!!
um.....no......

However maybe a ticketing system would work better, ie you pay to enter a tourney to win tickets. then tickets can be traded into an arena shop to buy items, that way all tournaments have equal interest to players, in terms of prizes. tickets to win would be based on the gold entry fee proportionally. ie 16k worth of entries would be 1 token (1k entry) up to 50k entry (50 tokens).
then there can be potions purchaseable for 5-100 tokens and items purchaseable for 25 (400k gold sunk) to 1000 tokens (the majority around 100-300.

I accept any solution, you won't hear anything more than lobbying personal interests.

i would suggest having initially two cost levels 50K with 16 entrants, and 13k with 64 entrants.

interesting, but grim said he has control of what spawns and the times, not the coding to add in a whole new awards system
interesting idea though

HCS should increase withholding % of the prize gold to help eliminate it.

this would make it a player driven market, besides it could be implimented like any other shop except you would need a new token type. Not that hard to deal with since we already have bounty tokens, fsp and gold.

The system works fine right now! The only problem is the cost vs prize. As it has already been stated... Some prizes are way out of balance with the cost of entry. Some items spawn way too often. That is why most of the spine items are now worthless. Who wants to pay 45k to 65K to enter for an item that is worth less than 1 fsp? Fix this bit that is out of balance and everything will be fine.
this is the main thing
its the same issue the arena used to have, with all the cacus, lord valks, argus items, ect...

Bigger tourneys and higher entrance fee's for popular items though in particular bigger tourneys to get more newcomers.
I think it is a bit foolish that there are 2 lvl 100 epic's, at least i would not try to make lvl 100 set without them- at least i think you should be very carefull when designing new epic items to avoid making them supreme in the arena.

Would be nice to order the potions (remove the useless and set prices to fit what they are worth in the th), more champion potions would also be nice, whether they are bound or not. Perhaps give them their own (4th) section.

funny thing is, they tend not to work that well together
usually, you use one or the other, but not both, though you can use them together

And it WILL happen with new items as well, unless the starting cost is tiny.
Ideally, the entry fee for every item should be no more than 1/20 of the current market price. This ensures all the items are worth entering. For example, Red Spine Helm is worth 2 FSP, the entry fee should reflect that it's not worth much.
And when items are more than 50 FSP, the entry fee should at least be 100000 gold, not 10000.
For maximum gold sinking, the entry fees could be reviewed and adjusted monthly.

im hoping the new items are diverse and useful enough that the price should stay steady on them for quite a long time
and that they don't get released in scavenging like gurgriss xD
