This has been bugging me a little. I don't understand why a player thinks he/she should be immune from a pvp hit because they go offline in crystal gear. There is always the chance that you could be hit, so if you are going to get your panties all in a twist because your crystal got hit, then don't wear it offline.

Even more so if there's a chance you could be bountied

I am pretty sure a bunch of people are going to say how rude and inconsiderate it is to hit people in crystal but really, why would anyone think wearing crystal makes them immune?

On the flip side, recently a guild founder ran his fingers before his brain and accused me of hitting his guild members because they were wearing crystal. Ummm no I hit them because they were the only players in my range (excluding one retired player that I did not hit), and they happened to be wearing crystal. I hit each of them only once. As I pointed out to him, if I really wanted to break their crystal I could start a guild conflict and hit a bunch more players that would have been in my range and damaged lots and lots of crystal. As he didn't have the manners to reply to my message I might still do that  for the rep points of course :P

Your thoughts?

I say smash that Crystal. They need to know of risk. PvP is for everyone.

Edit: You wear crystal, you are taking a risk. PvP is part of the game and if they don't like it, as you said, don't wear crystal while offline.

I agree with this 100%. whenever you go offline in crystal gear, you should make sure you're not in conflict with anybody, and be certain of your protection against attack in the first place =\ (basic rule of PvP anyway) those who get hit shouldnt whine, they chose to take that chance, and lost ;)

See there's your problem. You only hit them once. Some kids need points to be beaten home. I can assure you that once people realise they are targets for whatever reason, they will change what they are wearing so they are no longer such juicy targets :P

Annnd if you get some lip back you could have a hand spasm and accidentally 100 stam them.

also, my camels have crabs, not fleas. I hope they infest your place of paradise!

To me it seems like a boxer having an expensive nose job and expecting his opponent to avoid hitting him in the face in his next match. People know the rules of the game so going offline with something you don't want to be touched is just dumb...

I dont think an attacker should mind whether his target is wearing Crystalline or not..Its the defenders fault that he got offline in any kind of unsuitable -for PvP- gear (Leveling items, Naked, Poor stats, etc)

Yeah the first point did occur to me but I didn't really want the poor guildies to pay for their founder being a whiner.

I only 100 stam. I have to remind myself constantly if clearing a friend not to 100 stam them

I would get all excited because I love seafood but I expect we are talking about two different things :(

Think of it this way, if their founder is a whiner, you are doing their guildies a favour and they would be better off else where ;)

isn't the idea of PvP to look at stats of the oponent...

does it matter what gear someone wears to get the stats the person has? :?

Hitting them because of their founder might have the opposite effect - that of consolidation - if said founder is smart enough to present the facts in a light favoring him/her.

Recently I got offline crystal gear too, and if I expect to get bountied I won't wear it, if instead I get randomly PvPed while in it, ehh, I'll live with it, it's not like it's gonna break anytime soon because of a rare attack on me, I suppose.

No, but crystal sets are a horrible and costly choice for when offline.

Not true.

I go offline in Crystaline all the time, Stam gain is what I'm after the +2 an hour is worth it. If I get hit, I get hit. I'll just bounty. No big deal. I know the risk I run when I'm wearing it. If a player hits me, they hit me. I wont flip a lid. Crystaline was MEANT to break anyway.
