the idea below is about a PVP event, with prizes for the top 5% of entrants lets say.

firstly; a realm is created for the pvp event, this zone has 10-20 safe spawn points where you cannot be attacked on unless you move of of the square. once you move off the square you are a fair target for all, and are not able to return to a safe square unless you are defeated, in which case you will automatically respawn there.

secondly; the event has a level limit, this limit doesn't limit entry level of players but the max level of items that will count in battle. the event will also have a buff limit whereby a player is limited to a certain number of buffs in the PVP realm (eg 3 buffs) this makes picking your buffs very tactical as well as picking your setup since you could go for attacking buffs, constitution, death prevention buffs etc. or a mixture.

thirdly; a points system is used. The simplest would be to use an elo style system used in many games (first invented for chess). this would be similar to the current pvp rating system in all essential idea, its just elo systems are generally more robust, they often also come with limitations on who can attack who based on elo ratings... (would post an excelent version but would have to advertise another game...)

forthly: there will be no xp loss, gold loss or pvp loss within the realm where the event is taking place. Also reguardless of who initiates the attack, each player will have a 50% chance of attacking first in combat.

fifthly and most importantly;
prizes:
top 75% recieve some potions
top 5% recieve a random item from a brand new 3 piece set
top 1% recieve the complete set for the random item
top 10 recieve in addition to the 3 piece set a new and one off epic item, thus making great interest in each PVP event.

these could be run on a monthly basis with new to prizes every time making some nice coveted items.

Please tell me what you think??? suggestion, complaints, additions welcome :)

NOt a bad idea. too much coding, and too much needs to be done before something like this happens. and the idea of an 'epic' item coming out, for this event? Nah. I'd say keep the set part of the idea though. I don't think we really need anymore epics at the moment. lol

Just doesn't seem like it would work with the way PvP is set up...

the idea of an epic prize is that there would be 10 of these in the history of fallensword no repeats, ever making these items epic rather than just expensive (and high stat items with stam, xp perks)

I like this idea, but i dont really like the prizes idea, the thrill would surely be in having a better win to lose ratio, well it would for me!

This would also be a good stam sink if you had to walk about to find potential combats, and a gold sink if it cost (level of combat x XXXgold) so you could have level 50,100,150.........700 etc combat 'zones'.

Would be lots of fun, and would get some end of content peeps into PvP, without the fear of retribution.

LOVE this idea, but the prizes could be changed...for example, +1 skill points to the buffs you used for the top 10%, +5 for the top 5%, and +1 for the top? Obviously, there would be some limits...
