Hi all,
As you all know we have been going over all the ideas on how to fix GvG and PvP Prestige.
So tomorrow we will be taking all the ideas we like and after deciding exactly what will work and what wont in both systems and then the team will begin working on fixing the problems and re-vamping both Gvg and the PvP Prestige system for the better :D

Are you looking into fixing the pvp point system also? It's been overlooked for so long now.

Hoof said he's considering something similar for PvP as GvG viewtopic.php?p=839552#p839552

I'm liking the idea of only the top 'x' guilds gaining Guild RP based on the GvG Rating. This could be a daily gain of Guild RP. Tne same could also apply to PvP Prestige, ie. the top PvP Rating.

This would make it a challenge to be the best at Guild Conflicts and PvP.

What are your feelings on this?

Levy I have a great deal of respect for you and your ability and commitment to GvGing. That being said:

As I have for you and WK... If you continue to push for the skill reset, you will force me to pay stangvalle for his uber awesome lvl175 GvG buffs to beat you all in a conflict.. :D

I wish I had planned my skills better, as it stands, I am stuck with mostly leveling, and some PvP buffs...

Your points are clear, you dont like it, I understand that, but its going to hurt all the players who are trying to have fun.. we are all locked into the skills we set them at, and if we reset one or all skills, the skill points are lost.. so thats the downside to have them.. I doubt my AL175, QF, DW, DD, VISION, IMPS and other leveling buffs are going to help me win a GvG.. lol.. if you want, for free, I will buff you with all my buffs to show you what I do have so you know im not lying. I have no more of an advantage then any other player in this game.. I was just smart enough to study the mechanics and know how to crunch the numbers, I give resurrection leaders the credit for showing me that.

DC, KE, LD, SW, FS? .. level 175... honestly, do you think any player under level 200 deserves to have any level 175 buffs? You don't see how this is unbalanced? You don't really see how unfair that is... Even if they are leveling buffs.

I watched Levy spent 1000s, if not 10000s of FSPs getting to level 700 whatever, and earned whatever skills he got. To change the rules retroactively, would be grossly unfair to him. To require the appropriate level may have been a good idea, but it's too late now.

Maybe so, and having the skills at his high level would have been his reward, however taking those high-end buffs down to the lower end of the levels is a gross mistake on HCS's part, I agree, not levy's but to say it is too late now is wrong. They can and hopefully will change this. Levy has already admitted he doesn't have the PvP buffs that he requires anyways and gets skills from his friends. The argument of leveling up to attain the skills is moot, you level up to gain access to a lot of thing, all of which you lose except the skills for some weird reason when you self delevel..

They changed the amount of exp taken in pvp attacks after YEARS of status quo!!
This may effect Levy and a few others drastically but as we see many many more people doing the same thing it becomes a larger and larger issue.

It's not a reward, it's an oversight. You delevel to play with people a lot lower than your original level, you should play with the same skill points, level up points and gear range as them.

Why do you deserve a reward for deleveling yourself?

I have no argument about what skills I have.. and do indeed need taintedone and friends to buff me, BUT, I am merely fighting by principle to keep my skills.. I reserve the right to buff my friends with AL175, or KE175, or any other skill I have. its not about what skills I have, its about the fact that those who leveled up, earned the skill points, locked them in, and then forever are stuck with them.. at least until they level back up to the former virtual level.

They don't allow you to take the level up point down with you do they? In some cases the skill points are just as valuable. Yes, you did 'earn' those skills, sadly though when you deleveled you chose to go down into a range where those skills aren't available hence you gave up the skills too..

You don't know the reasons that pushed me to get down...
I was just tired of leveling up and wanted to try again from begenning...

All that was done before the RP came in (as we know it today)...

I'm tired of people pointing at me and saying I deleveled myself to get an advantage on everybody else...
I didn't plan to do some GvG at all at the begenning but with HCS bringing it it, they offered that to me on a golden plate!

Yes I have a advantage on unders, I canno't take that off... Unfair? No much... Their are advantages for some people in every aspect... And anywhere you look in life, some people will have some advantages...
It's an advantage that I worked for...

When you were talking of DURL to help those who don't have a fast connection: fast connections weren't necessery worked to have them... They are there thats all...

If anybody was in my position, it's sure they would try to defend that sligth advantage they have...

At least, i've let so things go...
Yes people should have the skills appropriate for there lvl...
But I want to have the skill points I earned... POINT.

We're considering making part of the skill cast requirement be that your current level is valid for the skill you are trying to cast.

This works for me. :) I had suggested doing an automatic skill reset but that would effectively cost HCS.

Your virtual level is your highest achieved level in the game(for which you have allocated level up points for). Your actual level can be lower due to deleveling.

In PvP, when you attack other players, your virtual level is taken as the starting point for the range of players you can attack, not your actual level. If another player attacks you, they must be within your virtual level range as opposed to your actual level.

This is simply to prevent abuse by intentionally deleveling to gain an unfair advantage over lower level players in PvP combat.

If not, why even have a VL?

It doesn't get much clearer then that to me! Sorry to those that thought they could get away with it for longer. An automatic reset would have come eventually with new buffs being introduced. With the advent of new GvG rewards this issue has come to the forefront earlier. That is all.

Edit: mixed up the virtual/actual levels. Thanks Hor :)

Don't u understand? I don't deserve it as a reward for deleveling... I deserve it as a reward for the LEVELING i've done before...

One point of your argument is that you didn't reset your skill points the right way into GvG beneficial buffs. But what about people that follow your lead? People that DO reset their points then come down. Is it fair for them to be under level 200 with 175 GvG buffs?

thats beautiful.. good thing I dont need to do much then, I have everything that any other level 125 has, and still accomplish the same things.. with or without my own skills..

Are you just upset I am not coming to you and paying for your skills?

What makes you think I didnt earn the respect and friendships of players at all levels, enough to get free buffs at any time I want? My friends know im not a mooch, and give the shirt off my back.. and those that know me, also know im a very selfless player. I have a lot of respect to you and most of the people posting in this thread, and their guilds, but I no not agree with the sentiment that a forced reset on skills is imminent.

It's not an exploit. HCS set up the rules this way. HCS said (via the rules) you always get to keep your earned skills when you get deleveled. To now say oops (months and months later), we made a mistake, when the deleveling is essentially irreversible (barring a massive expenditure), is terrible policy.
