I believe there is a need for bulletin board within a guild, on which current affairs or really anything guild founders or those with the ability given can post messages for all guild members to read, similar to a memo box just under the guild info panel for example.

The box should be placed on the side panel for easy reading, guilds would have to buy a new structure slot and also upgrade the structure to gain further character allotments until structure is maxed, the board would have maintenance costs (be it a low one, because it is a notice board after all) The structure could be called "Member's Hall or Secret Headquarters". personally i like the Secret Headquarters.

I have found mass messages can be an inadequate way of communicating with the whole guild, searching through your log because you can't remember an old mass message is annoying and often futile. If a member is offline, a bounty or guild conflict can cause the mass message to go so far back in the log that a member never read's it.

I really hope this suggestion will come into being as presently the guild history is the only place for

such information (guild allies. current affairs..etc) to be posted and it's for all to read, i believe guild's need somewhere to put semi-permanent information that only members can read, instead of all of fallensword. Presently many guilds are making websites to do this which is great if members actually do follow the link to it yet still this a available to the general public.

Families need privacy ...ask any counsellor.

Thanks for listening, Chezo (Guild Founder of ORDER OF THE BLUE ROSE)

In addition: Just one question in my mind after reading many responses....
This is a forum.....does this look like a notice board to you?.....because in my mind a forum is nothing like a notice board.

Why not just get a free forum? Lots more space, and you can keep threads going.

He's right, Forums are a good idea to use. But I understand why you feel the normal 'mass messages' are not really that effective, as I do several in my guild to notify them of certain changes and competitions, and it is obvious that many of them do not read them.

For that reason I will back you on this idea, as it would be great to be able to post all the notifications in one spot that is easy to access so that whenever a member signs on they can read them.

This is a great idea. Founder should assign the privilege to modify the board. Letting people kniw if there will be a planned titan hunt, or letting people know not to join certain conflicts would be great. I remember people asking for sortable logs (which would be nice) but this seems like it might be easier for the cows to program.

Make the upkeep at least 10k and hour and I'm on board.

I think its a good idea, specially with the amount of conflicts goin on, mass messages are sometimes lost. And not many people will check a forum everyday or bother putting small info on it. It gets my vote.

This addition would be helpful. Too many times players miss a mass message because people have a giant in box. Cost would be the main concern because not all guilds could afford this, but it would be a nice addition.

I think that is a very good Idea also. That way if there is something important that the guild needs to know then there is one location for it and then there is no need to go and hunt through all your log files. It is quick and simple. You got my vote

Boy, if I knew something about bulletin boards and how they function, I would be able to post something intelligent. Right now all I can say, is if it can make my position as guild founder easier to function, then I am all for it. :)

While I like the idea in principle, a similar effect can be achieved by using external fora (and if your guildmembers can't be bothered to read them, odds are they wouldn't bother to read anything within FS either :)) - so for me, this is a very low-priority issue, I'd prefer the developers to focus on things we cannot do ourselves.

100% agree with this idea. More communication is always good. Its also a great gold sink.

The amount of money I spend holding contests and encouraging use of our guild forums is enormous, simply because people find forums difficult to use or cant figure out how to register or login, etc. A bulletin board would be a great way to inform members of important things and would greatly simplify the lives of many many founders in this game.

I love this suggestion. It can be used to posts different links to all the calc sites and the numerous other "helper" sites.
Playing devils advocate, it will take up space on the servers. Well this can be resolved with having it as a structure (as been suggested) and needing maint fees. it can also be upgraded at the guilds discretion. Some of your guilds may deem it unneccessary, and therefore would choose not to use it. Others will. So if you as a guild leader dont like it... you dont have to get it and dont have to spend the gold/fsp for it.
I hope this is taken into consideration, I was thinking about it today and went to post a suggestion regarding it. Happy to see it was already here.

We can only hope that some have become older and wiser.... well, or just realize why things get suggested by HCS in the first place ,oP. I will admit, I only vaguely remember the suggestion.... looks like I'm just getting "older"... lol.

I think it's a good idea... again... but understand that people have other priorities. Nonetheless, GOLD SINK!!!

And the best thing here is that I don't think anybody would vote against this gold sink. (Dang those who shot down the stam gain structure gold sink back in the day, lol.)

Prosperous smacking! (o0
