Okay, so I'm what can legitimately be called an arena noob. I've won a few tourneys and I'm just figuring out enough to be dangerous.

From what I can tell, most moves in the arena are well balanced. They have their place and time to use each - except one.

Crush is a tiny, eensy, little bit overpowered.

As in, it's got no drawback. Every other move in the arena has a drawback - either you aren't attacking and can have your stats lowered if you're hit, or you're allowing more damage to be done to you versus other specific moves.

Crush has none of those, and on top of that ignores all defensive moves! Awesome? No.

So, how about this. If a player performs a crush, any move against them is treated like a Spin move - ie it gains an additional 20% chance to hit. However, crush's debuff would still only be applied if the other player was actually using a spin; therefore, defense sets could no longer simply spam crush, as they'd possibly be giving away free spins against them.

I realize armor sets could still spam crush with abandon under this proposed change, so make it also take 20% more damage, baseline.

Absolutely not, Crush is there to balance out SA. It insane that a armor/dam set up that have next to nothing att can get through a defensive thats at least 10x the attk. We already have to dodge the the CA/Block/Def of the arm set up, why take away the one sure thing to get through? Unless they fix the 20% chance to hit for SA, Crush need not to be changed..(10-20% increase in attk would be fine and it would compliment PA)

Crush DOES balance SA....

But tell me, dragon, what's the consequence of using Crush?

There isn't one, is there?

I was under the impression that was the whole point of moves in the arena.

If Crush takes 20% more damage and has a 20% more chance to be hit, then it will still nail turtles to the wall, because they'll be, well, turtling...it just won't be able to completely ignore other offensive setups like it can currently. Going def/damage and just crushing is a silly way to beat balanced armor setups.
