This is really uncalled for. Cant a news update be posted a few hours before an update is going to be done? the updates usually cause tons of lag and there is usually some sort of bug with them. Since the actuall game is used to beta test the updates i think alot of people would like to know ahead of time when an update is going to happen. today i bought buffs used potions and poof tons of lag game goes down and cant play at all.

There wasn't any downtime during the update except a small glitch in which creatures were not attackable (which was fixed in under 5 minutes).

Note the next update is further optimisations to help reduce lag issues.

The game was down for me as well for atleast an hour.

And now I have the letter a in the top left corner of the gear stat pop-up page and some of my guildmates are complaining of other issues like lag and other things.

I've a question about the planned down time to switch to the better server...

Is it midnight tonight (currently 20:35 GMT) - starting at 00:00 (technically Thursday).... or is it Midnight tommorow having been Thursday 28th all day?

Yes hoof the game went down like Pablo said. kept getting db error. it seemed to stop and go the game went back to normal shortly after the news update about this new update. there was massive lag and database errors for a couple hours. maybe a coincidence?

Apologies about that - hopefully we won't see further issues like this after tomorrow nights major upgrade :)

Hi all,

This is an advance notification of extended downtime we are expecting due to maintenance later this week.

Date: Thursday, 28th January 2010
Starting time: Midnight GMT
Downtime: Approx. 8 hours
Reason: Migration of the game database to a more powerful server.

Apologies in advance for any inconvenience!

~ The Fallen Sword Team

... I find this update totally mis-informative ... the choice of the word Midnight ... would that be yours or mine? ... lets see ... you could have gone accurate and precise but choose obscure and antiquated ... how about following your own norm and stating time in a standard format? ... use the 24 hour clock that you display in several ways ...

Not sure what's so confusing about this.

By that, I think he means technically, about 42 minutes ago it was 28th January 2010, Midnight time at GMT. It was a bit confusing for most. I don't mean to be mean in anyway but I need to point out at the time you plan to do maintence, it will be 29th January 2010, not 28 January 2010.

What's confusing about it is that once it becomes Midnight GMT, it's no longer Thursday the 28th, but Friday the 29th. Now we all know it's going to occur from 00:00 29/Jan/2010 to 08:00 29/Jan/2010 but I think some people are saying they would have preferred the more precise listing from the beginning.

... I didn't say it was confusing ... I said mis-informative ... HCS broadcast their ST in a 24 hour clock ... and then do a textual edict that is imprecise and inaccurate ... bad choice of words on their part ...

when the day ticks over to Thursday the 28th (midnight) GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) the work will start.

That seems pretty straight forward to me. Also looks like people trying to argue for the sake or an arguement.

seeing as you need it handed to you on a plate. 00:00 is midnight on a 24 hour clock.

Now go troll another thread.
