Get some rest, ya'll sorely deserve it.
I hope that a few of us players who were suffering withdrawl will sit back and realize just how addicted and invested we are in the game and gain some perspective as well.

Thanks for getting things back up!
It has been up for more than a few minutes, and I am still having significant lag both in-game and in the Forum.
Any expectation of how long this should last?
Thanks!
Until the memcache gets up to speed, usually takes anything from 30-60 minutes.

Soooo... I want to commend the Cows for perfectly illustrating to me that I am WAY too addicted to this game.
I think I checked the main site almost a hundred times. I followed the progress of the ETAs from a couple hours, to "when its (sic) done".
MAN, I'm glad it's up now. Thanks. Very laggy, but good to see the world again. 8)

What could be a better way of approaching this is:Hoof, while I really do appreciate all the work you guys have been putting in, does this crash cause you to think that maybe regularly scheduled maintenance might be a good idea?
I'm no expert, just an interested journeyman, but I know I'd rather spend two or three hours away from the game while the servers get debugged/defragged every week or two than having to sit there and wonder when the game is going to be back up because the servers took a massive poo and died on you guys again because their stacks are so corrupt that they might as well be playing host to a horde of carpenter ants and termites, lol.
How feasible would it be to run the database servers off a HA Clustering setup? And would the initial corruption have been averted with that setup.
Need to take into account factors such as the cost of rack space, Hardware and Licenses(DB Licenses can be VERY VERY expensive). It may not be worth spending up to $100KUSD for a redundancy/contingency setup.

it has been a few hours since the game has came back up and it is having server lag issues right now, not sure what it is but it is causing 30-60 second refresh rate. if anyone else is having these issues please post as well so i know its not just me.

You have got to be kidding HCS.... this lag is so bad, you cant reload a page but every 30seconds.. even the forum is lagging here.
Yeah, I know you didnt sleep at all the 24 hours and whatever, but this is insane. YOUR GAME IS UNPLAYABLE RIGHT NOW..
I have a new computer that pushes a A+ connection and 9GB of RAM.. No way you can say this is on the customers
